PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 8-Port Gigabit Desktop/Rackmount Switch (TL-SG1008) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SG1008 is an eight-port Gigabit unmanaged switch in a steel 294 mm chassis with an internal power supply — no external adapter to lose. It is the rack-capable version of the eight-port class, shipping with a rackmount kit for 13-inch or 19-inch cabinets and rubber feet for shelf use, and drawing only about 4 W in normal service.
Eight Gigabit Ports, Internal Power Supply
All eight RJ45 ports auto-negotiate 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps with Auto MDI/MDIX. Power comes in on a standard 100-240 VAC cord rather than a plug-pack, which matters in a cabinet: there is no adapter brick to find space for, nothing to be unplugged by accident, and one less item to replace years later. Store-and-forward switching validates each frame before forwarding it.
13-Inch or 19-Inch Rack, or a Shelf
The 294 x 180 x 44 mm chassis mounts in either a 13-inch or a full 19-inch rack with the supplied kit, which makes it unusually flexible for a small switch — shallow wall cabinets in retail and clinic fit-outs are often 13-inch, and most eight-port switches cannot use them at all. Rubber feet are included for desk or shelf placement.
16 Gbps Fabric, 16 KB Jumbo Frames
A 16 Gbps switching capacity covers all eight ports at full duplex simultaneously and the 11.9 Mpps forwarding rate holds line rate at minimum frame size. Jumbo frame support runs to 16 KB, larger than most of the family, which helps NAS, imaging and backup traffic. The 4K MAC address table and 802.3x flow control suit a small office segment with a NAS, printers and a few access points.
Fanless, Around 4 W, With QoS
There is no fan and TP-Link publishes a maximum draw of around 4 W with 14.67 BTU/h of heat, so the switch is silent and adds nothing measurable to a cabinet's cooling load. MAC address auto-learning and auto-ageing keep the forwarding table current with no intervention, and 802.1p/DSCP QoS gives marked voice and video traffic priority handling.
Ideal For
Singapore small offices, clinics, retail units and shallow wall cabinets needing eight rack-mountable Gigabit ports with an internal power supply. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request — ask us to confirm current stock for this model.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG1008
Is this model still current?
TP-Link's product page marks the TL-SG1008 as End of Life, so availability is limited to remaining stock. Ask SourceIT and we will confirm what we hold and quote the closest current model.
How does it differ from the TL-SG1008D?
The TL-SG1008 is the metal, rack-mountable version with an internal power supply and a 294 mm chassis. The TL-SG1008D is a smaller 180 mm desktop unit with an external 9 VDC adapter and no rackmount kit.
Does it supply PoE?
No. For powered cameras or access points, look at the TL-SG1008P or TL-SG1008MP instead.
Can it be adopted into an Omada Controller?
No. It is unmanaged and has no management interface of any kind.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's replacement warranty policy for unmanaged Gigabit switches. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
