PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada 8-Port 2.5GBASE-T and 2-Port 10GE SFP+ Smart Switch with 8-Port PoE+ (SG2210XMP-M2) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The SG2210XMP-M2 is Omada's multi-gigabit PoE+ access switch: eight 2.5GBASE-T ports each capable of PoE+ from a 160 W budget, two 10 Gbps SFP+ uplinks, and an 80 Gbps fabric - all fanless. It is the switch to put behind Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points whose radios have already outgrown a Gigabit port.
Eight 2.5GBASE-T PoE+ Ports for Multi-Gigabit Access Points
Every copper port runs at 100/1000/2500 Mbps and supplies 802.3af/at PoE+, so each access point gets two and a half times the wired bandwidth of a Gigabit link and its power over the same Cat5e or Cat6 cable already in the ceiling. Modern tri-band access points can exceed 1 Gbps of real aggregate throughput, at which point a Gigabit access switch - not the radio - becomes the limit. Eight ports covers a floor of APs or a dense cluster in one hall.
160 W PoE+ Budget Across All Eight Ports
The 160 W budget is the largest in Omada's eight-port desktop PoE class and works out at 20 W per port with every one loaded, which comfortably covers Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 ceiling access points as well as cameras and IP phones. Power comes from a 53.5 VDC/3.37 A adapter and maximum consumption is 180.1 W with the full 160 W of powered devices attached.
Two 10 Gbps SFP+ Uplinks Sized for the Access Ports
Two 10 Gbps SFP+ slots carry backhaul. The sizing is deliberate: eight 2.5G access ports generate at most 20 Gbps of aggregate demand, so a pair of 10G fibre uplinks matches the access layer exactly rather than throttling it the way a Gigabit uplink would. The two slots can also be used as an aggregated pair or a primary-and-standby path to the core, and fibre adds distance and electrical isolation.
80 Gbps Fabric With a 16K MAC Table and 12 Mbit Buffer
An 80 Gbps switching capacity and 59.52 Mpps forwarding rate cover all ten ports at full duplex simultaneously. The 16K MAC address table is double that of the Gigabit models in the range - appropriate for a switch sitting under a dense wireless deployment where every client MAC is learned - and the 12 Mbit packet buffer, also well above the Gigabit models' 4.1 Mbit, absorbs the bursts that multi-gigabit clients produce. Jumbo frames run to 9 KB.
Fanless and Wall-Mountable Despite the Power
At 226 x 131 x 35 mm the SG2210XMP-M2 is a compact desktop or wall-mounted unit and it is fanless, which is unusual for a 160 W PoE budget. Silence means it can be fixed in a ceiling void, a riser cupboard or a meeting-room corner near the access points it feeds rather than being pulled back to a comms room, shortening the copper runs that carry the 2.5G links.
Ideal For
Singapore offices, schools, hotels and event spaces deploying Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 access points that need more than a Gigabit port, and integrators building Omada networks with a 10G fibre backbone. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The SG2210XMP-M2 is part of the Omada ecosystem: gateways, switches and access points are managed together from one controller, under one set of policies, with one view of the network. Cloud and app features listed below require the device to be adopted into an Omada Controller.
| Omada SDN Controller | Supported — Omada Cloud-Based Controller, Omada Hardware Controller or Omada Software Controller |
| Omada App | Supported — requires an Omada Controller |
| Omada Cloud Access | Supported — requires an Omada Controller |
| Standalone Mode | Supported — configure the switch on its own through its web interface |
| Copper Ports | 2.5GBASE-T; negotiate down to 1 Gbps and 100 Mbps, so existing Gigabit devices connect without change |
| SFP+ Optics | 2× 10G SFP+ slots; modules and fibre patch leads are ordered separately — ask SourceIT to match optics to the run |

Frequently Asked Questions — SG2210XMP-M2
Do I need Cat6 or Cat6A cabling for the 2.5G ports?
2.5GBASE-T was designed to run over existing Cat5e at the usual 100 m, which is why it exists. Cat6 and above are fine too. Recabling is normally not required — that is the practical argument for 2.5G over 10GBASE-T at the access layer.
How does this differ from the SG2210MP?
The SG2210MP is the Gigabit version: eight Gigabit PoE+ ports, two Gigabit SFP slots, 150 W budget, 20 Gbps fabric. The SG2210XMP-M2 moves the copper to 2.5G, the uplinks to 10G SFP+, the budget to 160 W and the fabric to 80 Gbps, with a 16K MAC table and a 12 Mbit buffer.
Are SFP+ modules included?
No. The two 10G SFP+ slots are supplied empty. SourceIT can quote TP-Link SFP+ optics or DAC cables to match your distance and fibre type.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every unit. Send us your bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics.
