PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link Omada 8-Port 2.5GBASE-T and 2-Port 10GE SFP+ L2+ Managed Switch with 8-Port PoE+ (SG3210XHP-M2) - 5 Years Local Warranty

The SG3210XHP-M2 is Omada's compact 2.5-gigabit PoE+ access switch, built for the point where WiFi 6 and WiFi 7 access points outgrow gigabit uplinks. Eight 2.5 Gbps PoE+ ports feed the APs and cameras, while two 10G SFP+ slots carry the aggregate upstream. Against a plain gigabit L2+ switch it removes the per-AP bottleneck; against the ten-gigabit SX3832 it trades raw fabric for integrated 240 W of PoE.

2.5 Gbps Access Ports Unlock What WiFi 6 Access Points Can Actually Deliver

A modern WiFi 6 or WiFi 7 access point can push well past 1 Gbps of aggregate wireless throughput, which a standard gigabit switch port simply caps. All eight RJ45 ports on the SG3210XHP-M2 negotiate 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps, so each AP gets 2.5 Gbps of headroom on the same Cat5e or Cat6 cabling already run to the ceiling. The result is that dense client environments β€” lecture rooms, open-plan offices, event spaces β€” see the wireless capacity they paid for rather than a switch port throttling it.

Two 10G SFP+ Uplinks Remove the Aggregation Bottleneck

Two dedicated 10 Gbps SFP+ slots carry traffic upstream to the core or to a ten-gigabit aggregation switch, so eight 2.5 Gbps access ports never contend for a single gigabit uplink. Combined, the port set gives the switch 80 Gbps of switching capacity and a 59.52 Mpps packet forwarding rate β€” non-blocking across every port at full speed. Fibre uplinks also solve distance: SFP+ optics reach far beyond copper limits, letting a wiring closet sit where the building allows rather than within 100 metres of the core.

240 W PoE+ Budget Powers Every Port Without a Separate Injector

All eight RJ45 ports are 802.3af/at compliant and deliver up to 30 W each from a shared 240 W system budget β€” enough to run eight PoE+ access points, PTZ cameras or IP phones at full draw simultaneously with no derating. Because power and data travel on the same cable, ceiling-mounted and outdoor devices need no local mains outlet and no separate injector, which cuts installation cost and makes it practical to reboot or power-cycle a stuck device remotely from the switch instead of sending an engineer up a ladder.

Static Routing and L2+ Features Keep Inter-VLAN Traffic Off the Gateway

Static routing β€” 48 IPv4/IPv6 routes β€” lets the switch forward traffic between its own VLANs locally, so internal flows between a staff network and a server segment do not have to traverse the gateway and back. Up to 4K VLAN groups provide segmentation, with spanning tree protecting against loops and link aggregation bonding ports into resilient higher-bandwidth trunks. L2/L3/L4 QoS across 8 priority queues plus IGMP snooping keep voice and video streams prioritised and multicast traffic confined to the ports that requested it.

Security Enforced at the Access Edge, Where Devices Plug In

Being the first switch an untrusted device meets, the SG3210XHP-M2 carries IP-MAC-Port Binding, ACLs, Port Security, DoS Defend, storm control, DHCP Snooping and 802.1X with RADIUS authentication. Together these stop a rogue DHCP server from hijacking client addressing, block spoofed ARP and IP pairings, cap broadcast floods before they saturate the fabric, and require a device to authenticate before its port is opened. Management sessions are protected with HTTPS and SSH rather than plain HTTP and Telnet.

Zero-Touch Provisioning Through the Omada SDN Platform

The switch integrates into Omada SDN for cloud access, remote management and multi-site management, with Zero-Touch Provisioning meaning a unit can be shipped to a site, plugged in by non-technical staff and pull its configuration automatically from the controller. Day-to-day it is managed alongside Omada gateways and access points from a browser or the Omada app. Where a controller is not used, it runs standalone with a web GUI, CLI over the RJ45 or Micro-USB console port, and SNMP v1/v2c/v3 with RMON.

Ideal For

Singapore businesses, schools, hotels and managed-service providers building on Omada, and IT teams that want a switch they can adopt, monitor and update centrally rather than box by box. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support

The SG3210XHP-M2 is part of the Omada ecosystem: gateways, switches and access points are managed together from one controller, under one set of policies, with one view of the network. Cloud and app features listed below require the device to be adopted into an Omada Controller.

Omada SDN Controller Supported β€” adopt and manage centrally from the Omada Software Controller, Hardware Controller or Cloud-Based Controller
Omada App Supported β€” remote management from iOS and Android
Omada Cloud Access Supported β€” no licence fee for cloud management
Standalone Mode Supported β€” the device can also be configured on its own via its web interface

Frequently Asked Questions β€” SG3210XHP-M2

Does the SG3210XHP-M2 need an Omada Controller?

No. The SG3210XHP-M2 runs standalone through its own web interface. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what unlocks central configuration, monitoring, firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site β€” at no licence cost.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Five years local Singapore warranty. Every SG3210XHP-M2 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.

How should I size the PoE budget?

The total PoE budget is in the Technical Specifications above, and it is a system total rather than a per-port guarantee β€” the ports cannot all draw their maximum at once. Add up the real draw of every powered device you intend to connect and leave headroom.

Is stock held locally?

SourceIT holds fast-moving Omada lines in Singapore. Anything not in local stock is brought in on indent β€” ask us for the current lead time before committing to a project date.

Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?

Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build β€” controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics β€” with local warranty and support.
