TP-Link Omada 5G Outdoor Gateway (ER701-5G-Outdoor) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The ER701-5G-Outdoor is Omada's weatherproof 5G gateway — "built to go where wired broadband can't". It mounts on a wall, pole or window, takes power and delivers data over a single 2.5G PoE cable, and brings 5G SA/NSA broadband into an Omada-managed network.
Up to 7.01 Gbps 5G Downlink
In 5G standalone (SA) mode TP-Link publishes peak speeds of 7.01 Gbps downlink and 1.25 Gbps uplink; in non-standalone (NSA) mode, 4.5 Gbps down and 730 Mbps up. LTE fallback reaches 1.6 Gbps down and 211 Mbps up, and 3G WCDMA is supported as a last resort. Actual speeds depend on the service plan, network capacity and environment.
Nine High-Gain Internal Cellular Antennas
Nine high-gain directional internal cellular antennas are designed for a strong, stable 5G signal. Installation is simplified by real-time signal strength in the Omada App, so the installer can align the unit for the best reading before fixing it in place.
Single-Cable 2.5G PoE Installation
A single 2.5G RJ45 port carries both data and power — 802.3at PoE (42-57 V, 0.6 A) or passive PoE (48 V, 0.375 A, adapter included) — with a maximum draw of 15.3 W. The gateway can therefore sit on the roof or an external wall where the 5G signal is best, with only one cable run back to the comms room.
Dual SIM Failover for Business Continuity
Two Nano SIM slots run in active/standby, so automatic failover and backup WAN scenarios keep the business up and running if a carrier link degrades.
IP66, 6 kV Surge Protection and -30 °C to 60 °C
The fully sealed enclosure is rated IP66 weatherproof with 6 kV surge protection and an operating range of -30 °C to 60 °C, for prolonged exposure to harsh outdoor conditions. A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi interface (150 Mbps) is provided for local setup and management only.
Managed in Omada With 500,000 Concurrent Sessions
The gateway is adopted into Omada Central, a Hardware Controller or the Software Controller, with DPI, URL filtering, flood defence and ARP inspection, and is rated for 500,000 concurrent sessions and 6,100 new sessions per second.

TP-Link's overview copy describes the unit as "built to endure prolonged submersion", while the specification table rates it IP66 (protection against powerful water jets, not immersion). Both are reproduced as published; plan installations to the IP66 rating.

Does the ER701-5G-Outdoor need an Omada Controller?
No. The ER701-5G-Outdoor runs standalone through its own web interface. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what unlocks central configuration, monitoring, firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site; features marked Controller Mode on TP-Link's page require a controller.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every ER701-5G-Outdoor sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Is stock held locally?
SourceIT holds fast-moving Omada lines in Singapore. Anything not in local stock is brought in on indent — ask us for the current lead time before committing to a project date.
