PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 5-Port Gigabit Desktop PoE+ Switch with 1-Port PoE++ In and 4-Port PoE+ Out (TL-SG1005P-PD) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SG1005P-PD solves a specific problem: extending a network to a location with no mains socket. It takes all its power over a single PoE++ uplink and passes what is left out to four PoE+ ports, so one cable from the comms room powers the switch and everything hanging off it. Rated for -30 to 70 degrees Celsius, it is built for ceiling voids, risers, gate posts and outdoor enclosures.
Powered Entirely Over Its Uplink - No Adapter, No Socket
Port 5 is a PoE In port accepting 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt Type 3 or Type 4 power. There is no power adapter and no mains connection at all: the switch is a powered device that then acts as power sourcing equipment for ports 1 to 4. That is what makes it useful where running a new mains circuit would be the expensive part of the job — a camera cluster on a lamp post, a set of APs in a ceiling, a gate house.
66 W Passed Through on 802.3bt Type 4, 47 W on Type 3
The available output budget depends on what feeds it: 66 W when powered by an 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) source, or 47 W when powered by an 802.3bt Type 3 (60 W) source. Ports 1 to 4 deliver 802.3af/at PoE+ from that budget. Planning the upstream source correctly is therefore the whole design decision - a 60 W feed and a 90 W feed give materially different capacity downstream.
Extend Mode to 250 m and PoE Auto Recovery
An Extend Mode button covers ports 1 and 2, pushing PoE power and data delivery up to 250 m rather than the standard 100 m. Combined with a switch that needs no local power, that gives real reach: a PoE++ feed to the switch and then a further 250 m out to a device. PoE Auto Recovery on ports 1 to 4 power-cycles a port when a powered device stops responding, which is exactly what you want in a location that is awkward to reach.
Rated -30 to 70 Degrees Celsius, Fanless
The published operating range of -30 to 70 degrees Celsius is far wider than the 0 to 40 degrees of the desktop switches in this family, and it is the reason this model can go into an unconditioned enclosure, a roof space or an outdoor cabinet rather than only an office. The chassis is fanless at 158 x 101 x 25 mm, with a 10 Gbps fabric, 7.44 Mpps forwarding rate and a 2K MAC address table.
Ideal For
Singapore installers extending camera, access point or access-control coverage to car parks, gates, ceilings, risers and outbuildings where there is a PoE++ feed available but no power socket. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SG1005P-PD is an unmanaged switch. Extend Mode is selected by a button on the chassis; there is no web interface, command line or controller adoption.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — this model cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller |
| Omada App / Cloud Access | Not supported |
| Web Management | None — unmanaged, plug and play |
| Upstream Power Required | An 802.3af/at/bt source on port 5. An 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) source gives the full 66 W output budget; a Type 3 (60 W) source gives 47 W |
| Powering Omada Devices | Supported — ports 1–4 deliver 802.3af/at PoE+ to Omada access points, cameras and other powered devices |
| If You Need Central Management | Choose an Omada JetStream smart or L2+ managed switch instead — ask SourceIT for the equivalent model |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG1005P-PD
Does it come with a power adapter?
No, and it does not take one. The switch draws all of its power from the PoE++ source connected to port 5. That is the point of the model — it works where there is no mains socket.
What upstream source do I need?
An 802.3af, 802.3at or 802.3bt source on port 5. The output budget depends on it: 66 W from an 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) source, 47 W from an 802.3bt Type 3 (60 W) source. Tell us what is feeding it and we will confirm what it will support downstream.
Can it be installed outdoors?
Omada publishes an operating range of -30 to 70 degrees Celsius, which is considerably wider than the rest of this family. No IP ingress rating is published, so it should be housed in a suitable enclosure if it is exposed to weather.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's replacement warranty policy for unmanaged PoE switches. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole build — switching, access points, cameras and optics — with local warranty and support.
