PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada 5-Port 2.5G Multi-Gigabit Unmanaged Desktop Switch (DS105G-M2) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The DS105G-M2 is the compact end of Omada's multi-gigabit range: five 2.5G ports in a case barely 100 mm square, fanless, drawing under 6 W. It is the switch to put behind a desk, under a meeting-room table or beside a Wi-Fi 7 access point when the requirement is more than Gigabit but far less than a rack.
Five 2.5G Ports Over Existing Cat 5e
Each port auto-negotiates 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps with auto-MDI/MDIX. Because 2.5GBASE-T is specified over Cat 5e, a site can move its access layer past Gigabit on the cabling already installed. For a modern access point or a laptop dock whose uplink exceeds 1 Gbps, that removes the bottleneck without a cabling project.
25 Gbps of Capacity in a 100 mm Box
Switching capacity is 25 Gbps at an 18.6 Mpps forwarding rate — line rate on all five ports simultaneously — with a 4 K MAC address table, 12 KB jumbo frames and store-and-forward switching. The 99.8 x 98 x 25 mm chassis is small enough to sit out of sight, and rubber feet are supplied so it can rest on any surface.
IGMP Snooping on an Unmanaged Switch
The DS105G-M2 performs IGMP snooping, forwarding multicast only to ports that have asked to join a group instead of flooding all five. For AV-over-IP, digital signage or IPTV in a meeting room, that is the feature that keeps a small switch from becoming a broadcast problem — and it needs no configuration to work.
Under 6 W, Silent, and No Setup
Maximum power consumption is 5.81 W from an external 9 VDC / 0.6 A adapter, with 19.754 BTU/h of heat dissipation and no fan. 802.3x flow control and 802.1p/DSCP QoS are applied automatically, so priority markings set by an IP phone or an upstream managed switch survive the hop. Power it on, plug in the cables, done.
Ideal For
Singapore meeting rooms, small offices, reception desks and home offices that need 2.5G in a space where a rack switch will not fit, and installers feeding a multi-gigabit access point or a small AV cluster. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.
TP-Link lists the DS105G-M2 as End of Sale. SourceIT still supplies it while stock lasts — ask us to confirm current availability and the recommended replacement before committing to a project date.

Compatibility & Software Support
The DS105G-M2 is an unmanaged switch. It has no web interface, no CLI and no configuration of any kind — it forwards traffic as soon as it is powered on. TP-Link states plainly in its own documentation that Omada Unmanaged Switches do not support Omada SDN central management.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — the DS105G-M2 cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller |
| Omada App | Not supported |
| Omada Cloud Access | Not supported |
| Web / CLI Management | None — the switch is unmanaged by design |
| Works Alongside Omada | Yes — it will carry traffic for Omada access points, gateways and cameras perfectly well; those devices remain managed by the controller themselves, and the switch simply does not appear in it |
| Cabling | 2.5GBASE-T (802.3bz) runs over Cat 5e, so existing cabling can usually be reused |
| PoE | Not supplied — powered devices need their own injector or a PoE switch |

Frequently Asked Questions — DS105G-M2
How does it differ from the DS108G-M2?
Port count and the resulting capacity: five ports and 25 Gbps here, eight ports and 40 Gbps on the DS108G-M2. The DS105G-M2 is also smaller (99.8 x 98 x 25 mm) and takes a 9 V adapter rather than 12 V. Both are fanless, unmanaged and support IGMP snooping.
Can it be managed from an Omada Controller?
No. It is an unmanaged switch and TP-Link states that Omada Unmanaged Switches do not support Omada SDN central management.
Does it supply PoE?
No. The DS105G-M2 has no PoE — powered devices need their own injector or a PoE switch.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every DS105G-M2 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Is stock held locally?
TP-Link has marked the DS105G-M2 End of Sale, so availability is limited. Ask SourceIT to confirm current stock and the recommended replacement before committing to a project date.
