PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada 5-Port 10G Desktop Switch (DS105X) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The DS105X is the five-port, fanless member of Omada's 10G desktop range. Every port negotiates 100 Mbps, 1G, 2.5G, 5G or 10G, so a NAS, an editing workstation and a multi-gigabit access point can share one silent box on a desk or shelf. There is nothing to configure and, with no fan, nothing to hear.
Five Multi-Gigabit Ports, Silent Operation
All five RJ45 ports run across the full 100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10G range with auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDIX. The DS105X is fanless, drawing a maximum of 21.4 W from an external 12 VDC / 2.0 A adapter, which is what allows it to sit on a desk in a studio or meeting room without contributing any noise — a real constraint for anyone doing audio or video work beside their switch.
100 Gbps of Switching Capacity
Switching capacity is 100 Gbps at a 74.4 Mpps forwarding rate — line rate 10G on every port simultaneously. A 32 K MAC address table, 2 Mb packet buffer and 10 KB jumbo frame support back it, with store-and-forward switching. For a small team pulling large files off shared storage, the practical benefit is that two or three 10G clients can work at once without the switch becoming the bottleneck.
Flow Control and Priority Marking Without Configuration
The DS105X is unmanaged but not simplistic: it applies 802.3x flow control and honours 802.1p and DSCP priority markings applied by the devices attached to it. Traffic classed as latency-sensitive upstream keeps its priority through the switch, which matters when voice, video and bulk transfers share the same five ports.
Compact Enough for a Desk, Solid Enough for a Cupboard
The chassis measures 226 x 131 x 35 mm with rubber feet supplied, so it sits flat on a desk, a shelf or the floor of a comms cupboard. Per-port link and activity indicators are built into each RJ45 jack alongside a single system power LED, which keeps the front face readable at a glance without a row of separate lights.
Ideal For
Singapore studios, small offices, home labs and meeting rooms adding a 10G island around a NAS and one or two workstations, and anywhere a silent multi-gigabit switch is needed outside a rack. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.
TP-Link lists the DS105X as End of Sale. SourceIT still supplies it while stock lasts — ask us to confirm current availability and the recommended replacement before committing to a project date.

Compatibility & Software Support
The DS105X is an unmanaged switch. It has no web interface, no CLI and no configuration of any kind — it forwards traffic as soon as it is powered on. TP-Link states plainly in its own documentation that Omada Unmanaged Switches do not support Omada SDN central management.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — the DS105X cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller |
| Omada App | Not supported |
| Omada Cloud Access | Not supported |
| Web / CLI Management | None — the switch is unmanaged by design |
| Works Alongside Omada | Yes — it will carry traffic for Omada access points, gateways and cameras perfectly well; those devices remain managed by the controller themselves, and the switch simply does not appear in it |
| Cabling | 10G over Cat 6a is the safe specification for long runs. On Cat 5e or shorter Cat 6 runs the ports will negotiate 2.5G or 5G instead. |

Frequently Asked Questions — DS105X
Can the DS105X be managed from an Omada Controller?
No. It is an unmanaged switch and TP-Link states that Omada Unmanaged Switches do not support Omada SDN central management. It will still carry traffic for your Omada access points and gateways, which stay managed themselves.
Is it really silent?
Yes — it is fanless. Maximum power consumption is 21.4 W from an external 12 V adapter, which is low enough for passive cooling.
What if I need more than five 10G ports?
The DS1008X is the eight-port model on the same platform, with 160 Gbps of capacity, an internal mains supply and a rackmount kit in the box.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every DS105X sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Is stock held locally?
TP-Link has marked the DS105X End of Sale, so availability is limited. Ask SourceIT to confirm current stock and the recommended replacement before committing to a project date.
