PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link VIGI 4MP Outdoor Full-Color Pan Tilt Network Camera (VIGI C540) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The VIGI C540 is an IP66 outdoor pan-and-tilt camera that records 2560x1440 at up to 30 fps and covers 350 degrees of pan and 120 degrees of tilt from a single mounting point. Two IR LEDs and two white LEDs reach 30 m, so night footage can stay in full colour, and one PoE cable carries power and video to a car park, yard, loading bay or shopfront.
4MP Recording With H.265+ Encoding
Maximum resolution is 2560x1440, with the main stream also offering 2304x1296, 2048x1280 and 1920x1080 at up to 25 fps on 50 Hz or 30 fps on 60 Hz. Main-stream encoding is H.265+, H.265, H.264+ or H.264 at 256 Kbps to 4 Mbps; the sub-stream runs H.265 or H.264 at 64 to 512 Kbps in 640x480, 352x288 or 320x240. Bit rate control is CBR or VBR, and the 1/3 inch progressive scan CMOS sensor is rated at 52 dB SNR or better.
350 Degree Pan, 120 Degree Tilt and 300 Presets
The motorised head pans 0 to 350 degrees and tilts 0 to 120 degrees, at a configurable 1 to 55 degrees per second horizontally and 1 to 40 degrees per second vertically. Up to 300 presets are stored, with eight patrol routes of up to eight presets each, park actions, 3D positioning and power-off memory that restores the previous position after an outage. Manual angle adjustment covers 0 to 348 degrees of pan and 0 to 120 degrees of tilt.
Full-Colour Night Vision to 30 Metres
Two 850 nm IR LEDs and two white LEDs both reach 30 m, controlled automatically, on a schedule, always on or always off, so you choose between discreet infrared and full-colour evidence. Minimum illumination is 0 lux with the IR or white light active. The fixed 4 mm F1.6 lens gives a 79 degree horizontal, 43 degree vertical and 93 degree diagonal field of view, with DORI distances published as detect 80 m, observe 33 m, recognise 16 m and identify 8 m. Image processing includes BLC, 3D DNR, HLC, SmartIR and DWDR.
PoE or DC Power, On-Board microSD Storage
One RJ-45 10/100 Mbps self-adaptive port carries 802.3af/at PoE, or the camera can run from 12 V DC through a 5.5 mm coaxial plug at up to 14 W. The built-in slot takes a microSD card up to 256 GB so recording continues if the network drops, and the built-in microphone and speaker give two-way audio within a 5 m radius. The housing is plastic, rated IP66 and specified for -30 to 60 degrees C.
Smart Detection and VIGI Management
Smart events cover area intrusion, line crossing and people detection; basic events cover motion detection, video tampering and illegal-login exception. Linkages are microSD recording, push message, audible warning and white light flashing. The camera is managed from the VIGI app, the VIGI Security Manager desktop software or its own web UI, works with third-party systems through ONVIF, and supports up to three main streams and three sub-streams at once with HTTPS encryption, IP address filtering and digest authentication.
Ideal For
Singapore car parks, side gates, yards, loading bays, worksites and shopfronts that need one camera to sweep a wide area rather than several fixed ones, and sites standardising on PoE so no outlet is needed at the pole. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Published Notes and Contradictions
TP-Link publishes the PoE class for this model twice and the two entries disagree: one row reads "PoE (802.3af/at, class 0)" and the other reads "PoE (802.3af/at, class 4)". Both are reproduced here as published rather than harmonised; ask us to confirm the class with the distributor before sizing a PoE budget.
TP-Link's camera summary row describes the lens as "fixed focal lens (2.8 mm / 4 mm / 6 mm)" while the lens table on the same page publishes only the 4 mm figures. This listing is the 4 mm version and only the 4 mm lens data is published here.
The page also carries a second, shorter event table naming "human detection" and "camera tampering detection" where the main table names "people detection" and "video tampering detection", and giving a linkage method of ONVIF and HTTPS where the main table gives N/A. Both halves are TP-Link's own; neither has been corrected.
TP-Link publishes this caveat for its H.265+ savings claim: calculations are based on laboratory testing using a 3MP VIGI camera, and actual performance will vary with the amount of activity recorded, the resolution and other variables. A microSD card is not included in the package.

Frequently Asked Questions — VIGI C540
Can this camera be used outdoors?
Yes. TP-Link publishes an IP66 weatherproof rating and an operating range of -30 to 60 degrees C, so it is suited to Singapore's rain and heat in an exposed position.
How is it powered?
Either 802.3af/at PoE over the network cable or a 12 V DC adapter through a 5.5 mm coaxial plug, drawing up to 14 W. No adapter is listed in the box, so tell us which you need and we will quote it.
Does it need a VIGI recorder?
No. It records to a microSD card of up to 256 GB on its own and is viewed through the VIGI app. A VIGI NVR is worth adding when you want continuous recording, longer retention and playback across several cameras at once.
Is there Wi-Fi on this model?
No. The C540 is wired only, with a single 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. For the same camera with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi choose the VIGI C540-W, and for a 4G version the VIGI C540-4G.
Does night footage stay in colour?
It can. Two white LEDs reach 30 m for full-colour night video, and two 850 nm IR LEDs reach the same distance if you prefer discreet infrared. Either can be set to auto, scheduled, always on or always off.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every order.
