The EAP115-Wall is Omada's entry-level wall-plate access point: a single-band 2.4 GHz 300 Mbps unit in an 86.8 mm faceplate, powered by 802.3af PoE and drawing just 2.8 W. It is built for high-density room-by-room deployments — dormitories, budget hotels, hostels and clinics — where the requirement is reliable basic connectivity in every room at the lowest possible cost per point.

Room-by-Room Coverage from a Standard Faceplate

Instead of one ceiling access point trying to cover several rooms through walls, the EAP115-Wall puts a dedicated radio inside each room. It mounts to a standard wall back box at 86.8 x 86.8 x 30.2 mm, with two internal 1.8 dBi omnidirectional antennas serving a rated 25 m² (300 ft²) and 100+ concurrent clients. For accommodation blocks with masonry walls, that per-room approach usually delivers a better guest experience than a smaller number of higher-specification units.

2.8 W Over 802.3af PoE, Plus a Wired Downlink Port

Power comes over 802.3af PoE on the 10/100 Mbps uplink port, and maximum consumption is 2.8 W — so a standard 802.3af switch will feed a large number of units without a PoE budget calculation becoming the constraint. A second 10/100 Mbps downlink port on the faceplate serves a wired device in the room, and local LAN port VLAN support lets that port sit on a different VLAN from the wireless SSIDs.

Eight SSIDs with Captive Portal and VLAN Mapping

Up to eight SSIDs are supported, each mappable to its own VLAN, so guest, staff and management traffic stay separated. Captive portal authentication handles guest onboarding with terms acceptance or voucher login, wireless isolation prevents clients from reaching each other, and MAC address filtering, 802.1X, rogue AP detection and WPA/WPA2-PSK or Enterprise encryption cover the rest. Rate limiting and wireless schedules give the operator control over how much bandwidth each room can take.

Managed Centrally Under Omada SDN

The EAP115-Wall is adopted into an Omada Hardware Controller or the Omada Software Controller, with cloud access available through OC300, OC200, the Cloud-Based Controller or the Software Controller. That turns a building full of faceplates into a single managed network: one SSID change, one firmware push, one view of which rooms are online. L3 management, multi-site management, email alerts, SNMP v1/v2c, syslog, SSH and the Omada app are all supported.
