PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada 28-Port Gigabit Smart Switch with 16-Port PoE+ (SG2428LP) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The SG2428LP gives a floor twenty-four Gigabit copper ports and four Gigabit SFP slots, with PoE+ on sixteen of the copper ports from a 150 W budget - and it does all of it without a fan. It is the quiet, lower-power member of the 28-port Omada Gigabit smart range, adopted and managed from an Omada Controller.
Sixteen PoE+ Ports Plus Eight Data-Only Ports
Sixteen of the twenty-four copper ports deliver 802.3af/at PoE+ at up to 30 W each from a shared 150 W budget; the remaining eight are standard Gigabit data ports. That split is deliberate - it covers the powered devices on a floor, typically access points, IP phones and cameras, while leaving eight ports free for desktops, printers and servers that need no power. Where every port must be powered, the SG2428P is the 24-port PoE+ alternative.
Fanless at Full Rack Width
A 28-port rack switch that is genuinely fanless is unusual, and it is the SG2428LP's defining feature. With no fan there is no noise and no moving part to fail, so the switch can be mounted in an open rack on an office floor, in a classroom, a clinic or a retail back-of-house rather than shut away in a comms room. The 440 x 220 x 44 mm chassis is a standard 1U rack unit with an internal 100-240 V AC power supply.
56 Gbps Fabric With 41.66 Mpps Forwarding
A 56 Gbps switching capacity and 41.66 Mpps forwarding rate cover all twenty-eight ports running full duplex at once, so the fabric never oversubscribes regardless of how the floor is patched. The 8K MAC address table suits an access layer carrying several VLANs plus wireless clients behind attached access points, and the 4.1 Mbit packet buffer with 9 KB jumbo frames absorbs the bursts that file transfers, backups and video recording generate.
Four Gigabit SFP Slots for Uplink and Redundancy
Four Gigabit SFP slots allow a fibre uplink to the core plus a second path for redundancy, or an aggregated pair carrying the combined access traffic. Fibre buys distance beyond the 100 m copper limit and electrical isolation between floors or buildings, which is the usual reason a floor switch backhauls on fibre. Modules and fibre patch leads are ordered separately to match the run.
Central Management Through Omada SDN
Adopted into the Omada Cloud-Based, Hardware or Software Controller, the SG2428LP is configured, monitored and updated alongside every other Omada device on site - one set of VLANs, one set of policies, one view of the network. PoE ports can be scheduled and power-cycled remotely from the controller, which saves a site visit when a camera or access point needs a hard reset. It also runs standalone through its own web interface.
Ideal For
Singapore offices, schools, clinics and retail sites that need a full-size floor switch mounted in occupied space where fan noise is not acceptable, and integrators building Omada networks with a mix of powered and unpowered devices. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — SG2428LP
Which of the twenty-four copper ports supply PoE?
Sixteen of them. The other eight are standard Gigabit data ports with no power. If you need PoE on all twenty-four, the SG2428P is the model to specify.
Is the SG2428LP really fanless?
Yes. Omada specifies it as a fanless design, which is why it carries a 150 W PoE budget rather than the 250 W of the fan-cooled SG2428P. Silent operation is the trade-off for the smaller power pool.
Why does the certification list show only CE and FCC?
That is what Omada publishes for this model. We list certifications exactly as the manufacturer states them rather than assuming a model carries the same marks as its siblings.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every unit. Send us your bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics.
