PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada 25GBase-LR SFP28 LC Transceiver (SM6110-LR) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The SM6110-LR is the long-reach half of Omada's 25 Gigabit optic pair: a 1310 nm single-mode SFP28 module running dual rate at 25.78 Gbps or 10.31 Gbps over duplex LC fibre, with a published maximum cable length of 10 km and power consumption no higher than 1.2 W. Where the multi-mode SM6110-SR stops at 100 m, this module crosses a campus or a city block.
10 km of Single-Mode Reach at 25 Gigabit
The defining figure is the 10 km maximum cable length over 9/125 µm single-mode fibre. That covers the links short-reach optics cannot: building to building across a campus, a branch back to a headquarters, a rooftop or basement comms room at the far end of a leased dark fibre. Because the link runs at the full 25.78 Gbps over that distance, an inter-building trunk no longer has to be the slowest segment in the path. The trade-off against multi-mode is fibre cost, not bandwidth.
Dual Rate Keeps One Part Number Across 10G and 25G
Like its short-reach sibling, the SM6110-LR is specified at both 25.78 Gbps and 10.31 Gbps. A site still running 10G aggregation can fit these modules now and step the link up to 25G later by changing the switches at each end, not the optics in the ground. For a spares cupboard that is one long-reach part instead of two, and for a phased upgrade it removes a re-cabling stage from the plan.
1310 nm Optics, Duplex LC/UPC, DDM
The module transmits at 1310 nm through a duplex LC/UPC connector into 9/125 µm single-mode fibre — the ordinary combination for 10 km enterprise links. Digital Diagnostic Monitoring reports optical transmit and receive power, temperature, laser bias and supply voltage back to the host switch, which is how a long external run gets diagnosed: a receive level drifting toward the low end usually means a contaminated or bent connector rather than a dead module. SFP-MSA compliance and hot swap support mean it seats in a live chassis.
1.2 W Draw and Standards Coverage Including Fronthaul
Power consumption is published as no more than 1.2 W — slightly above the short-reach part, as expected of a longer-reach laser, and still low enough that a fully loaded SFP28 line card is not thermally constrained by the optics. The module is built to IEEE 802.3ae and 802.3cc together with the SFF-8402, SFF-8431, SFF-8432 and SFF-8472 interface specifications, and TP-Link additionally lists eCPRI, CPRI and TCP/IP, so it is specified for radio fronthaul as well as enterprise switching.
Ideal For
Singapore campuses, multi-building sites and service providers running 25G between premises over single-mode fibre, and Omada deployments whose aggregation layer has outgrown 10G inter-site links. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
This is a passive pluggable transceiver, not a managed Omada device. It carries no firmware of its own, needs no licence, and does not appear in an Omada Controller as a separate device — the host switch owns the port, reports the link, and exposes whatever diagnostics it supports. Adopting the switch into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what puts the port under central management.
| Slot Type | SFP28 — SFP-MSA compliant, hot swappable |
| Supported Rates | 25.78 Gbps and 10.31 Gbps (dual rate) |
| Fibre Required | Duplex single-mode, 9/125 µm, LC/UPC connectors, up to 10 km |
| Matching Module | A second SM6110-LR at the far end — both ends of a 1310 nm duplex link use the same part |
| Diagnostics | DDM, read by the host switch |
| Omada Controller | Not adopted directly; managed through the switch that hosts it |
TP-Link does not publish a per-switch compatibility list for this module. Send us your switch model and slot type and we will confirm before you order rather than infer it from a sibling product.

Frequently Asked Questions — SM6110-LR
How far will the SM6110-LR reach?
TP-Link publishes a maximum cable length of 10 km over 9/125 µm single-mode fibre.
Can I use it with multi-mode fibre?
The published fibre type is 9/125 µm single-mode. For multi-mode runs inside a building, the SM6110-SR is the matching short-reach module.
Does it work at 10 Gigabit as well?
Yes. It is dual rate, specified at 25.78 Gbps and 10.31 Gbps, so it can serve a 10G link today and a 25G link after a switch refresh.
Will it work in my switch?
It needs an SFP28 slot. TP-Link publishes no per-switch compatibility list for this module, so send us your switch model and we will confirm before you order.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, under Omada's replacement warranty tier for accessories. Every module sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — switching, optics, patching, gateways and access points — with local warranty and support.
