PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link Omada Gigabit 24VDC Passive PoE Adapter (POE2412G) - 5 Years Local Warranty

The POE2412G is a compact mains-powered passive PoE injector delivering 24 V DC at up to 12 W alongside full Gigabit data on a single Ethernet run. It is the 24 V counterpart to TP-Link's 48 V injector, intended for devices whose specification calls for 24 V passive PoE, and it is small enough to tuck behind a switch or fix inside a wall box.

24 V Passive PoE Where the Device Expects It

Passive PoE carries no negotiation handshake: the injector places 24 V on the spare pairs and the connected device draws what it needs, up to 12 W. TP-Link describes the adapter as auto-determining the necessary power requirements, so there is nothing to set. That suits remote-mounted equipment specified for 24 V input - outdoor bridges, CPEs and small access points - where pulling mains to the device would mean an electrician and a new socket. Check the powered device's stated input voltage first: 24 V passive is not interchangeable with 48 V passive or with IEEE 802.3af/at.

Two Gigabit Ports, No Speed Penalty

Both RJ45 ports run at 10/100/1000 Mbps with auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX, so the injector never becomes the slow hop in the path and the patching order does not matter. Media support covers Cat3/4/5 for 10BASE-T, Cat5/5e for 100BASE-TX and Cat5/5e/6 for 1000BASE-T, each to 100 m. Plenty of legacy injectors cap at 100 Mbps; this one carries a full Gigabit link end to end.

Small, Mains-Powered and Wall-Mountable

At 85.8 x 43.9 x 35 mm the POE2412G is among the smallest injectors in the range - noticeably more compact than the 48 V model - and it takes 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz directly, so no separate power brick is required. A single PWR LED confirms the supply. TP-Link supplies wall mounting kits in the box, so the unit can be fixed tidily above a ceiling tile or inside a cabinet rather than left dangling on the cable.

Plug-and-Play, Built to Stay Installed

There is no configuration and no firmware: connect the switch to the data port, the device to the PoE port, and apply mains. The operating range is 0 to 40 °C at 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity, which covers comms cupboards, ceiling voids and sheltered plant areas, with storage tolerance from -40 to 70 °C. It is a single-device injector by design - where several powered devices are involved, a PoE switch is usually the neater and cheaper answer, and SourceIT can quote either.

Ideal For

Singapore integrators and IT teams powering TP-Link equipment specified for 24 V passive PoE, replacement of a lost or failed injector in an existing outdoor bridge or CPE link, and spares holdings for sites already built on passive PoE. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

TP-Link publishes this adapter under two product pages — POE2412G and TL-POE2412G — with identical electrical and mechanical figures but different certification rows (the TL- page adds CE). The certification shown above is the one published on the POE2412G page that matches this part number.

Compatibility & Software Support

The POE2412G is a passive power injector. It has no firmware, no licence and no management interface, so it is not adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller and there is nothing on it to configure. It sits transparently between a switch port and the powered device.

Omada Controller Not applicable — the adapter has no management plane and is not adopted by a controller
Power Standard Passive PoE at 24 V DC, 12 W maximum — not IEEE 802.3af/at/bt. The powered device must be specified for 24 V passive PoE input
Data Rate Transparent to 10/100/1000 Mbps — the adapter does not limit link speed
Configuration None — plug-and-play, no setup required

TP-Link does not publish a per-model list of devices supported by this adapter. Send us the model number of the access point, bridge or camera you intend to power and we will check its published input requirement before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions — POE2412G

Can this power an 802.3af or 802.3at device?

No. The POE2412G supplies passive PoE at 24 V, which is not IEEE 802.3af/at. Only connect devices whose specification states 24 V passive PoE input. Ask us if you need a standards-based injector instead.

What is the difference between this and the 48 V injector?

Output voltage and power. The POE2412G supplies 24 V at up to 12 W; the TL-POE4824G supplies 48 V at up to 24 W. They are not interchangeable — use the one the powered device specifies.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Five years local Singapore warranty. Every POE2412G sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.

Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?

Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points, optics and power accessories — with local warranty and support.
