PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link Omada 24-Port Gigabit Stackable Lite L3 Managed PoE++ Switch with 4× 10G Slots (SG5428XMPP) - 5 Years Local Warranty

The SG5428XMPP is the 24-port PoE model in TP-Link's Omada SG5400 stackable Lite L3 range: 24 Gigabit PoE ports (8 × 90 W PoE++ and 16 × 30 W PoE+) sharing a 500 W PoE budget, four 10G SFP+ uplinks, four-unit stacking and Lite L3 routing under Omada SDN.

500 W Across 24 PoE Ports, With Eight 90 W PoE++ Ports

Ports 1–8 are IEEE 802.3af/at/bt PoE++ ports delivering up to 90 W each, and ports 9–24 are 802.3af/at PoE+ ports at up to 30 W each, all drawing on a 500 W total PoE budget. TP-Link footnotes that the budget is based on laboratory testing and the actual PoE budget is not guaranteed and varies with clients and environment — so if all eight PoE++ ports will run near 90 W, check the remaining headroom for the PoE+ ports.

Perpetual PoE and Fast PoE

TP-Link lists Perpetual PoE, which keeps power flowing to connected devices while the switch itself reboots, plus Fast PoE — so cameras, phones and access points are not dropped every time the switch is upgraded or restarted.

128 Gbps Per Unit and 80 Gbps Stacking

24 Gigabit RJ45 ports and four 10G SFP+ slots give 128 Gbps switching capacity and 95.23 Mpps forwarding per unit. Up to four units stack over the 10G SFP+ slots — all uplink ports can be used as stacking ports — for up to 80 Gbps stacking bandwidth across four stacking ports.

Lite L3 Routing for Inter-VLAN Traffic at the Edge

Static routing, RIP v1/v2, OSPF v2/v3, a DHCP server (up to 64 IP pools) and DHCP relay let the switch route between VLANs locally instead of hair-pinning traffic through the gateway. That is usually what a building or floor needs — routing between staff, guest, voice and CCTV VLANs — without paying for the full BGP/IS-IS stack of a core switch.

Security and Availability Built In

ACLs (IPv4 and IPv6), Dynamic ARP Inspection, IEEE 802.1X with MAB, port security (up to 64 MAC addresses per port), DHCP Snooping and IPv4/IPv6 Source Guard defend the access layer, while ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) gives rapid protection and recovery in ring topologies.

Omada SDN: Cloud Management and Zero-Touch Provisioning

Adopted into an Omada Hardware, Software or Cloud-Based Controller, the switch is configured, monitored and upgraded alongside Omada gateways and access points — automatic device discovery, batch configuration and firmware upgrades, abnormal event warnings and reboot schedules. Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the Omada Cloud-Based Controller. Standalone web GUI and CLI management remain available.

Ideal For

Mid-sized PoE access closets in offices, schools, clinics and retail sites powering Wi-Fi 7 APs, PTZ cameras and phones, with stacking and local inter-VLAN routing under Omada. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — SG5428XMPP

Does the SG5428XMPP need an Omada Controller?

No. The SG5428XMPP runs standalone through its own web interface and CLI. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what unlocks central configuration, monitoring, batch firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site; Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the cloud-based option.

How much PoE can the SG5428XMPP deliver?

TP-Link rates the total PoE budget at 500 W, with up to 90 W on each of ports 1–8 (PoE++) and up to 30 W on ports 9–24 (PoE+). TP-Link notes the budget is based on laboratory testing and the actual figure will vary with clients and environment.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Five years local Singapore warranty. Every SG5428XMPP sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.

Is stock held locally?

SourceIT holds fast-moving Omada lines in Singapore. Anything not in local stock is brought in on indent — ask us for the current lead time before committing to a project date.

Is this model available for project orders?
