PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 24-Port 10/100Mbps Desktop Switch (TL-SF1024M) - Local Warranty
The TL-SF1024M packs 24 Fast Ethernet ports into a 222 mm desktop case - about half the width of a rack switch and small enough to sit on a shelf, under a counter or inside furniture. It is unmanaged, fanless and runs from a 9VDC adapter, giving dense low-bandwidth port capacity where there is no rack to mount into.
24 Ports in a 222 mm Desktop Footprint
All 24 ports are 10/100Mbps RJ45 with auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX, arranged across a case measuring just 222 x 126 x 45 mm. That is the distinguishing feature of this model within the TL-SF range: the same port count as a full 19-inch rack switch in roughly the footprint of a hardback book. It suits sites with no comms cabinet at all - a shop back office, a clinic reception, a site container or a temporary classroom - where a rackmount chassis would have nowhere to go.
Fanless, Silent, and Fed by an External 9VDC Adapter
There is no fan, so the switch is completely silent and there is nothing mechanical to fail or to draw dust into the case. Power comes from an external adapter supplying 9VDC at 0.6A, which keeps the mains transformer outside the chassis and lets the case stay small and cool. Maximum heat dissipation is 11.46 BTU/h. Because it is silent and cool, the unit can be installed inside a cupboard or a reception desk rather than needing a ventilated location.
Green Technology Cuts Power by Up to 67%
TP-Link states Green Technology saves up to 67% of power on this model by reducing draw on ports where no link is detected. Maximum power consumption is published as 3.68W at 220V/50Hz, and also as 3.36W at 220V/50Hz, on the same specification - both figures are reproduced here rather than picking one. Either way the draw is trivial, which matters when the switch shares a small UPS with a till system or a router and every watt of runtime counts.
802.3x Flow Control With Back Pressure for Half-Duplex Links
IEEE 802.3x flow control handles congestion on full-duplex links by signalling the sender to pause rather than dropping frames. The TL-SF1024M additionally implements back pressure, the half-duplex equivalent, which is genuinely useful on the older hardware this switch is usually bought to serve - legacy printers, industrial controllers, building-management panels and serial converters that still negotiate to half duplex. Store-and-forward transmission validates each frame before forwarding, containing errors from a failing cable or NIC. The 8K MAC address table is ample for a 24-port segment.
Unmanaged: No VLANs, No PoE, No Controller
There is no web interface, no VLAN or QoS configuration, no SNMP and no PoE, and this is not an Omada SDN device - it cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller. It is bought to be plugged in and left alone. Where a project needs segmentation, powered devices or central visibility, SourceIT can quote the equivalent Omada smart or managed switch at the same port count.
Ideal For
Singapore retail, clinics, site offices and classrooms needing 24 Fast Ethernet ports with no rack available, and installs where the switch must hide inside furniture. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SF1024M
Can the TL-SF1024M be rack mounted?
No rackmount kit is supplied with this model — it is a desktop unit. For a 24-port Fast Ethernet switch that racks, ask SourceIT about the TL-SF1024D or TL-SF1024.
Does it supply PoE?
No. The TL-SF1024M has no PoE ports. Powered devices need a PoE injector or a PoE switch.
Can it be configured or managed?
No. There is no web interface, no VLAN or QoS support and no SNMP. For segmentation or central management, ask SourceIT about the equivalent Omada smart or managed switch.
Is this model still available?
TP-Link lists the TL-SF1024M as End of Life, so availability is limited. Ask SourceIT to confirm current stock and the closest current alternative before committing to a project date.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every unit. Ask us to confirm the current warranty duration for this model before purchase.
