PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 24-port 10/100Mbps Desktop/Rackmount Switch (TL-SF1024D) - Local Warranty
The TL-SF1024D delivers the same 24 Fast Ethernet ports as a full-width rack switch in a 294 mm half-depth chassis that works equally well on a desk, a shelf or in a rack with the supplied kit. It is unmanaged, fanless, lockable and draws barely three watts - a quiet, flexible aggregation point for low-bandwidth endpoints.
Rack It, Shelf It or Sit It on a Desk
At 294 x 180 x 44 mm the TL-SF1024D is about two-thirds the width of a 19-inch chassis, so it fits shallow wall cabinets and under-counter spaces that a full-width switch will not. TP-Link supplies both the rackmount kit and rubber feet in the box, so the same unit covers a comms cupboard install and a retail counter install without a second part number. All 24 ports are 10/100Mbps RJ45 with auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX, so nothing needs configuring at either end.
External Adapter Keeps the Chassis Cool and Compact
Power comes from an external adapter supplying 9VDC at 0.6A rather than an internal mains supply. That is what allows the shorter chassis and keeps the mains transformer - the warmest component in most switches - outside the case entirely. Maximum power consumption is published as 3.2W, and as 3.19W at 220V/50Hz, with maximum heat dissipation of 10.88 BTU/h. Green Technology cuts draw on ports with no link, so a lightly used switch consumes noticeably less than the headline figure.
4.8 Gbps Non-Blocking Fabric and a 2 Mb Buffer
Switching capacity of 4.8 Gbps is the full-duplex sum of all 24 ports at 100Mbps, so the fabric is non-blocking by design. A 3.57 Mpps forwarding rate sustains that at minimum frame size, and the 8K MAC address table copes comfortably with a dense endpoint segment. The 2 Mb buffer memory smooths bursts rather than dropping them, and store-and-forward switching checks each frame before it is passed on, so errors from a failing cable or NIC are contained rather than spread across the segment.
Physical Security Lock and a Fanless, Silent Build
The chassis carries a physical security lock point, which matters when a compact switch sits in the open - behind a reception desk, on a shop counter or on a classroom shelf - where it is easy to pick up and walk away with. There is no fan, so operation is completely silent and there is no bearing or filter to maintain. Combined with the low heat output, that makes the TL-SF1024D viable in enclosed furniture where an actively cooled switch would not be.
Unmanaged: No VLANs, No PoE, No Controller
There is no web interface, no VLAN or QoS configuration, no SNMP and no PoE on this model, and it is not an Omada SDN device - it cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller. That is a deliberate trade for zero configuration and nothing to maintain. Where a project needs segmentation, powered devices or central visibility, SourceIT can quote the equivalent Omada smart or managed switch at the same port count.
Ideal For
Singapore offices, retail counters, classrooms and small comms cabinets that need 24 Fast Ethernet ports without a full-width rack chassis. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SF1024D
How does the TL-SF1024D differ from the TL-SF1024?
Port count and performance are identical. The TL-SF1024D is a 294 mm desktop/rackmount chassis on an external 9VDC adapter; the TL-SF1024 is a full 440 mm rack chassis with an internal 100-240VAC supply. Choose on chassis width and how the unit will be mounted.
Can it be rack mounted?
Yes. A rackmount kit is supplied, along with rubber feet for desktop use.
Does it supply PoE?
No. The TL-SF1024D has no PoE ports. Powered devices need a PoE injector or a PoE switch.
Can it be configured or managed?
No. There is no web interface, no VLAN or QoS support and no SNMP. For segmentation or central management, ask SourceIT about the equivalent Omada smart or managed switch.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every unit. Ask us to confirm the current warranty duration for this model before purchase.
