TP-Link Omada 20-Port Gigabit Easy Managed Switch with 16-Port PoE+
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada 20-Port Gigabit Easy Managed Switch with 16-Port PoE+ (ES220GP) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The ES220GP is the compact entry point to Omada's Agile Easy Managed PoE range: 16 PoE+ ports plus two gigabit RJ45 ports and two SFP slots, in a half-width fanless chassis. Against the 28-port ES228GP above it, the differences that matter are silence and size β no fans and a 294 mm-wide body that sits on a desk or shelf β at a smaller 150 W PoE budget.
Completely Fanless, So It Can Live Outside a Comms Room
Unlike the 28-port models in this range, which carry two fans each, the ES220GP dissipates heat passively with no moving parts at all. That makes it genuinely silent and puts it where a fan-cooled switch cannot go: a reception desk, a consulting room, a retail back office, a classroom cupboard or an open-plan shelf. It also removes the most common mechanical failure point in a switch β the fan bearing β and means no dust-clogged intake to service, which matters in workshops, salons and light-industrial sites.
Twenty Gigabit Ports in a Half-Width 1U Body
The layout is 18 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports β 16 of them 802.3af/at PoE+ β plus two gigabit SFP slots for fibre uplinks. At 294 x 180 x 44 mm the chassis is roughly two-thirds the width of a full 19-inch switch, and brackets are supplied for both desktop and rackmount installation, so it suits a small cabinet as readily as a full rack. Switching capacity is 40 Gbps at a 29.76 Mpps forwarding rate, non-blocking across all twenty gigabit ports, with an 8K MAC address table and 4 Mbit packet buffer.
150 W PoE+ Budget Sized for Cameras, Access Points and Phones
Sixteen 802.3af/at compliant PoE+ ports draw from a shared 150 W budget, with up to 30 W available to any single port. In practice that runs a mixed small-site load β a handful of WiFi access points at around 15 W each, fixed-dome IP cameras at 5 to 10 W, and desk phones at 4 to 7 W β comfortably within budget, while still allowing a couple of higher-draw devices at the full 30 W. Where an estate is dominated by PTZ or heated cameras, the 250 W ES228GP or 384 W ES228GMP is the correct step up.
Perpetual PoE, Fast PoE and Auto Recovery Keep Endpoints Alive
Perpetual PoE maintains power to connected devices while the switch itself reboots, and Fast PoE restores it within seconds of power-on rather than after a full boot β so a firmware update does not take the cameras or phones down with it. PoE Auto Recovery watches for devices that stop responding and power-cycles the port automatically, clearing the frozen-camera problem without anyone visiting the site. Together these turn PoE from a convenience into a reliability feature on unstaffed small sites.
250-Metre Extend Mode and Remote Reboot for Outlying Cameras
With Extend Mode enabled, PoE and data travel up to 250 metres (820 feet) over copper β two and a half times standard Ethernet's reach β letting a gate, car-park or perimeter camera connect directly without an intermediate cabinet, local power or a media converter. Remote Camera Reboot power-cycles a stuck device from the management interface rather than from a ladder. The stated trade-off is that ports running extend mode step down to 10 Mbps, which carries a single surveillance stream fine but is not intended for general data.
Loop Prevention, VLANs and QoS Managed From a Browser or the Omada App
Automatic loopback detection blocks the accidental patch-lead loops that take small networks down, Port Isolation separates camera, guest and staff traffic at the port level, and up to 32 VLAN groups (4K VID range) give proper segmentation. QoS runs across 8 priority queues applied port-based, by 802.1p or by DSCP with WRR scheduling, plus bandwidth control; IGMP v1/v2/v3 Snooping with fast leave keeps multicast contained. Management is via the Omada app, cloud-based controller or hardware/software controller, with Zero-Touch Provisioning, batch configuration and automatic device discovery.
Ideal For
Singapore businesses, schools, hotels and managed-service providers building on Omada, and IT teams that want a switch they can adopt, monitor and update centrally rather than box by box. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The ES220GP is part of the Omada ecosystem: gateways, switches and access points are managed together from one controller, under one set of policies, with one view of the network. Cloud and app features listed below require the device to be adopted into an Omada Controller.
| Omada SDN Controller | Supported β adopt and manage centrally from the Omada Software Controller, Hardware Controller or Cloud-Based Controller |
| Omada App | Supported β remote management from iOS and Android |
| Omada Cloud Access | Supported β no licence fee for cloud management |
| Standalone Mode | Supported β the device can also be configured on its own via its web interface |

Frequently Asked Questions β ES220GP
Does the ES220GP need an Omada Controller?
No. The ES220GP runs standalone through its own web interface. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what unlocks central configuration, monitoring, firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site β at no licence cost.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every ES220GP sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
How should I size the PoE budget?
The total PoE budget is in the Technical Specifications above, and it is a system total rather than a per-port guarantee β the ports cannot all draw their maximum at once. Add up the real draw of every powered device you intend to connect and leave headroom.
Is stock held locally?
SourceIT holds fast-moving Omada lines in Singapore. Anything not in local stock is brought in on indent β ask us for the current lead time before committing to a project date.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build β controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics β with local warranty and support.
