PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 18-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch with 16-Port PoE+ (TL-SG1218MPE) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SG1218MPE is the sixteen-PoE-port Easy Smart switch: 250 W of budget, two combo Gigabit SFP ports, a lockable 1U rack chassis and a 0-50 C operating range. It is the access switch for a full floor of cameras or access points where a fully managed JetStream model is not required.
Sixteen PoE+ Ports Sharing a 250 W Budget
Ports 1-16 are 802.3at/802.3af compliant with a 250 W total budget — enough for sixteen ordinary fixed cameras, or eight to ten PoE+ access points at full draw. Two further non-PoE Gigabit RJ45 ports and two combo Gigabit SFP ports handle uplinks. The switch runs on 100-240 V AC from the supplied cord, drawing 21.4 W idle and 296.3 W at a full 250 W PoE load.
Rated to 50 C, Locked and Rack-Mounted
The operating range extends to 50 C, which is the specification that matters in a Singapore riser, ceiling void or un-airconditioned back-of-house cupboard where a 40 C-rated switch is marginal. The 440 x 180 x 44 mm chassis is 1U rack mountable with a physical security lock slot, and two fans carry the thermal load from PoE delivery.
Two Combo SFP Ports for Fibre or Copper Uplinks
The pair of combo Gigabit SFP ports lets you take the uplink over fibre where distance or inter-building isolation requires it, or use the paired copper ports where it does not. Each combo pair is one active link at a time. Static link aggregation lets the two uplinks be bonded for more capacity and resilience back to the core switch.
VLANs, QoS, Multicast Control and PoE Auto Recovery
Up to 32 VLANs are available at once from the full 4K VLAN ID range in MTU, port-based and 802.1Q tag-based modes — the mechanism that separates camera, guest and staff traffic on shared switching. QoS covers port-based, 802.1p and DSCP priority across four queues with rate limiting and storm control. IGMP Snooping v1/v2/v3 keeps camera multicast off uninterested ports, and PoE Auto Recovery power-cycles a port whose device has stopped responding. Switching capacity is 36 Gbps with an 8K MAC table, 4.1 Mbit of buffer and 10 KB jumbo frames.
Ideal For
Singapore surveillance projects, schools, warehouses, hotels and offices needing sixteen PoE+ ports with fibre uplink options in a lockable 1U chassis, and integrators standardising a camera or access-point floor. Supplied by SourceIT with five years local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

TP-Link does not publish an EAN or carton pack size for this model. The packet forwarding rate row is omitted because the published figure carries an inconsistent unit; ask us and we will confirm it against the datasheet before you specify it.
Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SG1218MPE is an Easy Smart switch, managed on its own through a web browser or TP-Link's Easy Smart Configuration Utility. It is not an Omada SDN device and cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller — though it will power and carry traffic for Omada access points and other PoE devices. Where the switch itself must appear in an Omada Controller, ask us about the Omada JetStream smart and L2+ managed PoE ranges.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — this model cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller |
| Omada App / Omada Cloud Access | Not supported |
| Powering Omada Access Points | Supported — 802.3af/at powered devices within the 250 W budget |
| SFP Optics | 2x combo Gigabit SFP ports, 1000BASE-X multimode or single-mode — ask us to quote the matching modules |
| Standalone Management | Supported — web-based GUI and Easy Smart Configuration Utility |
| Hardware Versions Published | V1, V3.20 (specifications above are as published on TP-Link's current product page) |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG1218MPE
How does it differ from the TL-SG1428PE?
Both carry a 250 W PoE budget. The TL-SG1218MPE has 16 PoE+ ports across 18 total ports; the TL-SG1428PE has 24 PoE+ ports across 28 total ports. Choose on port count, not on power.
Will 250 W run sixteen cameras?
Sixteen typical fixed IP cameras under 15 W each fit within the budget. PTZ cameras and PoE+ access points draw more, so send us the device list and we will size it properly.
Can it be adopted into an Omada Controller?
No. It manages itself through its own web interface. It will still power Omada access points — only the switch stays outside controller management.
Is the 50 C rating genuine?
Yes — TP-Link publishes an operating range of 0-50 C for this model, which is wider than most of the Easy Smart family and worth having in an un-airconditioned riser or ceiling space.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty under TP-Link's replacement warranty policy for Easy Smart PoE switches, with a GST invoice on every order.
