TP-Link Omada 16-Port Gigabit Easy Managed Switch
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada 16-Port Gigabit Easy Managed Switch (ES216G) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The ES216G is the 16-port model in Omada's Easy Managed switch range, offering a middle step between the compact 8-port units and the 24-port rack switches. Sixteen Gigabit RJ45 ports are backed by 32 Gbps of switching capacity and a 23.8 Mpps forwarding rate, in a fanless rack-mountable metal chassis that layers VLANs, QoS and IGMP snooping over plug-and-play operation.
16 Gigabit Ports With A Full-Duplex 32 Gbps Fabric
All 16 RJ45 ports negotiate 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps automatically and handle cable polarity with Auto MDI/MDIX, so uplinks and endpoints can be patched into any port. The 32 Gbps switching capacity is precisely double the 16 Gbps of aggregate port bandwidth, which is what allows every port to send and receive at full Gigabit speed at the same time without the backplane becoming the bottleneck. A 23.8 Mpps packet forwarding rate holds that up under small-frame loads, supported by a 4 Mbit packet buffer and an 8K MAC address table.
Three VLAN Modes For Clean Traffic Separation
The ES216G supports 802.1Q tag VLAN with up to 32 groups drawn from the full 4K VID range, port-based VLAN for simple untagged splits, and MTU VLAN which isolates ports from one another while leaving each connected to a shared uplink. Port isolation supplements these where you need cameras, guest devices or tenants kept apart at the port level without building a tagging scheme. For a 16-port deployment this is usually enough to separate voice, CCTV and data onto their own broadcast domains without moving to a fully managed switch.
QoS With Eight Queues So Latency-Sensitive Traffic Wins
Prioritisation can be keyed off the physical port, the 802.1p class-of-service bits inside a VLAN tag, or the DSCP value in the IP header, and traffic is then sorted into eight priority queues drained by weighted round robin - so high-priority flows go first without completely starving everything else. Port-based rate limiting caps how much bandwidth any one device can take, and storm control thresholds, settable in kbps or pps, stop broadcast, multicast and unknown-unicast floods from consuming the fabric and wrecking voice or video quality.
Automatic Loop Prevention And Multicast Control
Loopback detection watches for a port that has been cabled back into the same switch and disables it before the broadcast storm spreads, which removes the most common cause of accidental outages in small installations where patching is done by non-specialists. IGMP snooping for versions 1, 2 and 3 tracks which ports have joined which multicast groups and forwards camera or streaming traffic only to those ports, instead of flooding it everywhere. Fast Leave immediately stops a stream when the last receiver on a port drops out, freeing the bandwidth straight away.
Built-In Diagnostics That Save A Site Visit
Cable diagnostics run from the web interface test each attached copper run and report its status and the approximate distance to a fault, so a damaged or badly terminated cable can be identified from the switch rather than by walking the building with a tester. Because the switch is also a DHCP client and supports zero-touch provisioning, it picks up an address and can be adopted into an Omada Controller without a technician configuring it on site - useful when the ES216G is the aggregation point in a remote branch or a surveillance closet.
Fanless Rack Or Desktop Chassis With Surge Protection
A fanless design means silent operation and no moving parts to seize or draw in dust, so the ES216G can sit in an occupied office, a classroom or a reception cupboard. The metal casing measures 294 x 140 x 44 mm and mounts either on a desktop or in a standard 19-inch rack, and the internal 100-240 V 50/60 Hz supply removes the need for an external adapter. Ports carry +/-6 kV surge protection for copper runs exposed to electrical transients, and the switch is rated for -5 to 50 degrees Celsius operation.
Ideal For
Singapore businesses, schools, hotels and managed-service providers building on Omada, and IT teams that want a switch they can adopt, monitor and update centrally rather than box by box. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The ES216G is part of the Omada ecosystem: gateways, switches and access points are managed together from one controller, under one set of policies, with one view of the network. Cloud and app features listed below require the device to be adopted into an Omada Controller.
| Omada SDN Controller | Supported — adopt and manage centrally from the Omada Software Controller, Hardware Controller or Cloud-Based Controller |
| Omada App | Supported — remote management from iOS and Android |
| Omada Cloud Access | Supported — no licence fee for cloud management |
| Standalone Mode | Supported — the device can also be configured on its own via its web interface |

Frequently Asked Questions — ES216G
Does the ES216G need an Omada Controller?
No. The ES216G runs standalone through its own web interface. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what unlocks central configuration, monitoring, firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site — at no licence cost.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every ES216G sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Is stock held locally?
SourceIT holds fast-moving Omada lines in Singapore. Anything not in local stock is brought in on indent — ask us for the current lead time before committing to a project date.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics — with local warranty and support.
