PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 16-Port Gigabit Desktop/Rackmount Switch (TL-SG1016D) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SG1016D gives a small office sixteen Gigabit ports in a 294 mm chassis that mounts in a rack or sits on a shelf, whichever the site allows. Hardware Loop Prevention and Isolation Mode guard against the two things that most often go wrong on an unmanaged network — an accidental patching loop and client machines that should not see each other.
Sixteen Gigabit Ports, Rack or Shelf
All sixteen RJ45 ports auto-negotiate 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps with Auto MDI/MDIX, so any patch lead works either way round. The 294 x 180 x 44 mm chassis ships with both rackmount kits and rubber feet, which makes it a practical answer where the comms position changes later — start on a shelf behind reception, move it into the cabinet when the fit-out is finished, no swap-out required.
Loop Prevention and Port Isolation Built In
Loop Prevention covers ports 1 to 16 and disables a port that has been looped back into the switch, containing the broadcast storm that would otherwise take the network down. Isolation Mode on ports 1 to 14 separates client ports from each other, which suits guest Wi-Fi backhaul, tenanted units or public-facing terminals. Neither needs configuring; there is no management interface on this switch at all.
32 Gbps Fabric With an 8K MAC Table
The 32 Gbps switching capacity covers all sixteen ports at full duplex simultaneously and the 23.8 Mpps forwarding rate sustains line rate at minimum frame size. An 8K MAC address table is generous for sixteen ports, so the switch copes with access points carrying dozens of wireless clients and with daisy-chained desk switches. Jumbo frames up to 10 KB help NAS and backup traffic; store-and-forward switching discards corrupted frames rather than forwarding them.
Fanless, Low Power, Silent
There is no fan. Maximum heat dissipation is 33.93 BTU/h and the switch draws under 10 W, so it can live in an occupied room without anyone noticing it. Removing the fan also removes the one moving part in a switch of this class, which is the component most likely to fail in service. Green Technology reduces consumption further on idle ports and short cable runs.
Ideal For
Singapore offices, clinics, workshops and retail units adding sixteen wired Gigabit ports where nothing needs to be configured, powered over Ethernet or managed, and where the switch may have to sit in the open. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Reproduced exactly as TP-Link publishes it. The product page shows two maximum power consumption figures (9.26 W and 9.95 W at 220 V/50 Hz), so both are reproduced rather than one being chosen. The certification row lists FCC and RoHS only, with no CE mark stated. TP-Link publishes no packet buffer, EAN, carton pack size or rack-mounting height figure for this model, so those rows are omitted. Check the hardware version on the support page before ordering to a fixed specification.
Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SG1016D is an unmanaged switch with no PoE. There is no web interface, command line or controller adoption.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — this model cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller |
| Omada App / Cloud Access | Not supported |
| Web Management | None — unmanaged, plug and play |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG1016D
How does it differ from the TL-SG1016?
Both are sixteen-port Gigabit unmanaged switches. The TL-SG1016D is the 294 mm desktop/rackmount version; the TL-SG1016 is a full-width 440 mm rack chassis. Ask us which suits your cabinet.
Does it supply PoE?
No. The TL-SG1016D has no PoE on any port. For powered cameras or access points, look at an unmanaged PoE+ model or a JetStream switch.
Can it be adopted into an Omada Controller?
No. It is unmanaged and has no management interface of any kind.
Is it silent?
Yes. TP-Link publishes a Fanless design with heat dissipation of 33.93 BTU/h, so there is no fan noise at all.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's replacement warranty policy for unmanaged Gigabit switches. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
