PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 16-Port 10/100 Mbps + 2-Port Gigabit Rackmount Switch with 16-Port PoE+ (TL-SL1218P) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SL1218P is the 16-port member of TP-Link's unmanaged Fast Ethernet PoE+ rackmount family: sixteen 802.3at powered ports on a 150 W budget, two Gigabit uplinks and one combo SFP slot, in a 1U steel chassis. It adds two features its siblings do not have — a 250 m Extend mode and per-port isolation — without asking the installer to configure anything.
16 PoE+ Ports Sharing a 150 W Budget
Ports 1 to 16 are all 802.3at/802.3af compliant, so any of them can run an IP camera, a wireless access point, a VoIP handset or a door controller with no injector and no local socket. The 150 W system budget suits a floor of fixed-dome cameras or a mixed voice and wireless deployment, where average per-port draw sits well below the 802.3at maximum. Power is delivered automatically to compliant devices and withheld from non-PoE equipment, so nothing is damaged by plugging the wrong thing in.
Extend Mode Reaches 250 m on One Cable Run
Extend mode pushes both power and data up to 250 m on a single run, two and a half times the 100 m Ethernet limit. For a Singapore site that means a camera at the far end of a car park deck, a gate barrier, or an AP in a warehouse annexe can be reached without an intermediate cabinet, a fibre pair or a media converter. Throughput is reduced in Extend mode, which is the right trade for a camera or a door reader but not for a workstation.
Isolation Mode Keeps Edge Devices From Talking to Each Other
Isolation mode confines each access port to the uplink, so a camera cannot see another camera and a compromised edge device has nowhere lateral to go. On an unmanaged switch that would normally require VLAN configuration, it is a hardware switch position instead. Priority mode is available alongside it for deployments where a subset of ports must be served first when the fabric is congested.
7.2 Gbps Fabric, 8K MAC Table and Two Gigabit Uplinks
Switching capacity is 7.2 Gbps against a 5.36 Mpps forwarding rate, enough for every port to run full duplex at once. Two 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports plus one combo Gigabit SFP slot carry backhaul — comfortable headroom against the 1.6 Gbps that sixteen Fast Ethernet access ports can generate. An 8K MAC address table and 10 KB jumbo frame support handle a busy camera segment without flooding, and switching is store-and-forward with MAC auto-learning and auto-aging.
1U Steel Chassis, Two Fans, Universal Power
The 440 × 180 × 44 mm housing mounts in a standard rack and ships with two brackets. Two fans keep the PoE circuitry within its 0-50 °C operating range, and a physical security lock point secures the unit in an open rack or shared riser. Universal 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz input means no separate power brick to lose. Draw is 12.7 W with nothing powered and 172.8 W with a full 150 W of powered devices attached.
Ideal For
Singapore integrators fitting out a floor of IP CCTV, access control or VoIP, and SMEs that need reliable rack PoE with long-reach camera runs and no switch administration. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SL1218P is an unmanaged switch. Extend, Priority and Isolation modes are set by hardware switch positions on the unit — there is no web interface, no CLI and no SNMP agent, and the switch cannot be adopted into an Omada SDN Controller or managed from the Omada app. Where VLANs, 802.1X or central monitoring are required, SourceIT can quote a JetStream smart or Omada-managed switch of equivalent port count.
| Management | Unmanaged — hardware mode switches only |
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported on this model |
| Powered Devices | Any IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at compliant PD — IP cameras, access points, VoIP phones, access-control readers |
| Optics | Combo Gigabit SFP slot accepts a 1000BASE-X MMF or SMF module |
| Long-Reach Cabling | Extend mode supports up to 250 m on a single run at reduced throughput |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SL1218P
How is this different from the TL-SL1218MP?
They are different products despite the similar name. The TL-SL1218P has a 150 W PoE budget and one combo Gigabit SFP slot; the TL-SL1218MP has a 192 W budget and two combo Gigabit SFP slots. Both carry 16 Fast Ethernet PoE ports and two Gigabit RJ45 uplinks. Check which one your specification calls for before ordering.
What does Extend mode actually do?
It lets a single cable run carry PoE power and data up to 250 m instead of the usual 100 m, at reduced throughput. It is intended for cameras, door readers and similar low-bandwidth devices at the far end of a site, not for workstations.
Can I create VLANs on this switch?
No — it is unmanaged. Isolation mode gives you port-to-port separation in hardware, which covers many camera deployments, but true VLAN tagging requires a smart or managed switch. Ask SourceIT for the equivalent JetStream or Omada model.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, under TP-Link's Omada replacement warranty policy. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Is stock held locally?
SourceIT holds fast-moving Omada lines in Singapore. Anything not in local stock is brought in on indent — ask us for the current lead time before committing to a project date.
