PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 14-Slot Rackmount Chassis (TL-MC1400) - Local Warranty
The TL-MC1400 is a 19-inch, 2U chassis that accommodates fourteen TP-Link media converters and feeds them all from one power system. It replaces a shelf of individual units and their adapters with a single rack-mounted enclosure, and accepts an optional redundant power supply where the fibre links it carries cannot be allowed to fail.
Fourteen Converters, One Rack Unit Pair, One Power Feed
Media converters multiply quickly. A building with a dozen fibre-fed cameras, remote panels or satellite offices ends up with a dozen small boxes, a dozen power adapters and a power strip that nobody wants to trace. The TL-MC1400 takes fourteen of those into a standard 19-inch 2U enclosure and powers them from fourteen internal 9 VDC/0.6 A outputs fed by a single 100-240 VAC input. What was a shelf becomes two rack units with one mains lead.
Optional Redundant Power for Links That Must Stay Up
TP-Link publishes support for an optional redundant power supply on this chassis. Consolidating fourteen links into one enclosure means consolidating their failure mode too, so a second supply is not a luxury — it is what makes the consolidation safe. Where the chassis is terminating perimeter cameras, building-services links or a connection to a satellite site, a redundant feed keeps every one of those links alive through a single supply failure.
Actively Cooled for a Populated Enclosure
The chassis carries two fans. Fourteen converters in a confined 2U space generate more heat than any of them does alone, and the fans are what keep the enclosure inside its published 0-40 °C operating range in a Singapore comms room. Storage range is -40 to 70 °C. Plan rack space with normal front-and-rear clearance; the chassis is 482 x 358 x 86 mm, which is deeper than a typical patch panel.
Check Converter Compatibility Before You Populate It
TP-Link states that the chassis supports MCXXX media converters at hardware version 2.0 and above, and not version 1.0. Its slots also supply 9 VDC/0.6 A, so a converter designed around a different supply voltage is not a candidate. Both points are worth settling before the order rather than after delivery — send us the converter models and hardware revisions you intend to rack and we will confirm the combination with TP-Link.
Ideal For
Singapore comms rooms terminating several fibre links in one place, security and building-services integrators consolidating camera and panel converters, and IT teams who want their fibre conversion in the rack with the rest of the network rather than on a shelf beside it. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Specifications are reproduced from TP-Link's published TL-MC1400 page. TP-Link does not publish a maximum power consumption, a certification (Safety & Emission) row, a package contents list, a weight, an EAN or a carton pack size for this model, so none is stated here. The redundant power supply is described as optional and is not included; ask us for the part number.
Warranty: TP-Link's Singapore replacement-warranty policy names media converters among the accessories entitled to five years, but does not name a rackmount chassis in any tier. We therefore state local Singapore warranty without a duration rather than assume one — ask us to confirm the term in writing before you order if it matters to your tender.
Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-MC1400 is a passive, unmanaged enclosure. It supplies power, mounting and cooling to the converters installed in it; it does not switch, route or manage traffic.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — the chassis cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller and does not appear in the controller as a managed device |
| Omada App | Not supported |
| Management | None — the chassis has no interface, no IP address and no firmware |
| Supported Converters | TP-Link MCXXX media converters at hardware version 2.0 and above. Version 1.0 units are explicitly not supported |
| Slot Power | 9 VDC/0.6 A per slot — confirm the supply requirement of each converter model against this figure before ordering |
| Rack Requirements | Standard 19-inch rack, 2U of height, 358 mm depth plus cable clearance |
If you are pairing this chassis with specific converter models, send us the model numbers and hardware revisions and we will confirm the combination with TP-Link before quoting.
Package Contents & Ordering Information

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-MC1400
Which converters fit this chassis?
TP-Link states it supports MCXXX media converters at hardware version 2.0 and above, not version 1.0, and each slot supplies 9 VDC/0.6 A. Send us the models and revisions you plan to rack and we will confirm before quoting.
Does it come with converters or a redundant power supply?
No. The chassis is sold on its own. Converters and the optional redundant power supply are separate line items — we will quote them together.
How much rack space and depth does it need?
Two rack units in a standard 19-inch rack. It is 482 mm wide, 358 mm deep and 86 mm high, so allow for its depth plus cable clearance at the front.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Local Singapore warranty. TP-Link's published replacement-warranty policy does not state a duration for a rackmount chassis, so we do not quote one — ask us to confirm the term in writing if your tender requires it. Every TL-MC1400 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole build — chassis, converters, redundant supply, fibre patch leads and switching — with local warranty and support.
