TP-Link TL-WR802N 300Mbps Wireless N Nano Router
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless N Nano Router (TL-WR802N) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The TL-WR802N is a 57 x 57 x 18 mm nano router that turns a hotel Ethernet socket, a shared hotspot or a wired office point into your own private 300 Mbps Wi-Fi network. It runs on 5 V, 1 A from a USB port or the bundled adapter, and publishes five working modes — Router, Access Point, Range Extender, Client and Hotspot (WISP) — in a body that fits a laptop sleeve.
A Private Network From Any Wired or Wireless Uplink
The practical use for a nano router is control. In a hotel or serviced apartment you plug the TL-WR802N into the room's Ethernet socket, authenticate once, and every phone, tablet and laptop you carry joins your own WPA2-protected SSID instead of the property's open network. Hotspot (WISP) mode does the same job where the uplink is wireless rather than wired. Client mode works the other way round, giving a wired-only device such as a smart TV, a games console or a printer a Wi-Fi connection.
N300 on 2.4 GHz With Two Fixed Antennas
TP-Link rates the TL-WR802N at 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band under IEEE 802.11n/b/g, with coverage described as suited to two-bedroom homes across two fixed antennas. The Wi-Fi capacity class is published as Legacy, which is TP-Link's own description: this is a Wi-Fi 4 radio for browsing, messaging, video calls and light streaming across a handful of devices, not a main-router replacement for a busy household.
Powered Over USB, So It Travels With What You Already Carry
Power is 5 V, 1 A. The box includes a power adapter and a USB cable, so the router can run from a laptop USB port, a phone charger or a power bank when a spare socket is not available — useful in a hotel room where the accessible sockets are already taken. The single 10/100 Mbps port is a combined WAN/LAN port: it accepts the uplink in Router mode and serves a wired device in Access Point mode.
Guest Network, SPI Firewall and Enterprise Encryption
Security is published as an SPI firewall with access control, IP and MAC binding and an application layer gateway, plus one 2.4 GHz guest network kept separate from the main SSID. Encryption covers WEP, WPA, WPA2 and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise (802.1x). TP-Link notes that 802.1x encryption is only available in Router and AP modes — worth knowing if your office requires enterprise authentication and you intend to run the unit as a client or extender.
Setup and Day-to-Day Management
Management is through the TP-Link Tether app or the web interface. WAN types cover Dynamic IP, Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP and L2TP, with IPv4 and IPv6 both supported, and the published software list includes DHCP, DDNS, QoS, NAT forwarding and IPTV. Certification is FCC, CE and RoHS, and the unit is rated 0°C to 40°C in operation — comfortable for a Singapore room but not for an unventilated enclosure.
Ideal For
Frequent travellers, consultants working from client sites, students in hall, and anyone who needs to give a wired-only device a Wi-Fi connection or a hotel room a private network. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-WR802N
How many Ethernet ports does it have?
One. TP-Link publishes a single 10/100 Mbps WAN/LAN port that changes role with the working mode — uplink in Router mode, wired client port in Access Point mode.
Can it run from a power bank?
It is rated 5 V, 1 A and ships with a power adapter and a USB cable, so any USB source that can supply that rating will run it. TP-Link does not publish a power-bank endurance figure and we do not claim one.
Does it work as a travel router in a hotel?
That is its main use. Router mode takes a wired uplink from the room socket; Hotspot (WISP) mode takes a wireless uplink from the property's Wi-Fi. Either way your devices join your own encrypted SSID.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
