TP-Link LiteWave LS108G 8-Port 10/100/1000Mbps Desktop Switch
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 8-Port 10/100/1000Mbps Desktop Switch (LS108G) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The LS108G is the eight-port member of TP-Link's LiteWave Series. It is fanless, unmanaged and completely plug-and-play, with eight Gigabit RJ45 ports in a 158 mm desktop chassis. For a Singapore home office, a clinic reception or a small studio that has outgrown a five-port switch, it adds wired capacity without adding anything to configure or maintain.
Eight Gigabit Ports With Auto-Negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDIX
Every one of the eight RJ45 ports runs at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps and negotiates speed and duplex by itself, so older 100 Mbps equipment and Gigabit workstations coexist on the same switch with nothing to set. Auto-MDI/MDIX accepts straight-through and crossover cabling alike, which removes the usual cause of a dead port after a desk is re-patched. Supported standards are IEEE 802.3i, 802.3u, 802.3ab and 802.3x, together with IEEE 802.1p.
Fanless Operation and a 9 V External Adapter
There is no fan in the LS108G. Maximum power consumption is 3.7 W at 220 V / 50 Hz and maximum heat dissipation is 12.617 Btu/hr, low enough for the switch to sit in a cupboard, behind a TV or on an open desk without ventilation. The chassis measures 158 x 99.1 x 25 mm (6.2 x 3.9 x 1.0 in) and the unit runs from an external 9 V DC / 0.6 A adapter supplied in the box. Note that this is a different adapter from the 5 V unit shipped with the five-port LS105G - the two are not interchangeable.
11.9 Mpps Forwarding, a 4K MAC Table and 16 KB Jumbo Frames
The LS108G forwards at 11.9 Mpps and carries a 4K MAC address table with 1.5 Mb of packet buffer memory - both larger than the five-port model, which matters once a dozen or more devices are learned across the segment. Jumbo frames to 16 KB help with large sequential transfers between a workstation and a NAS. Transmission is store-and-forward, so frames are validated before they are passed on and corrupted frames are discarded rather than propagated.
802.3x Flow Control, 802.1p/DSCP QoS and Green Technology
IEEE 802.3x flow control lets a congested port signal the sender to pause rather than drop frames silently, which protects throughput when a Gigabit source feeds a slower link. 802.1p/DSCP QoS honours priority markings already applied by a VoIP handset or a router, so a call is not queued behind a bulk copy. Green Technology reduces draw on ports with no link detected. All three are always on and none of them is configurable, because the switch is unmanaged by design.
Unmanaged by Design
The LS108G has no web interface, no console port and no VLAN, SNMP or port-mirroring support, and it cannot be adopted into an Omada controller. There is no firmware to maintain and no configuration to lose. Where a site needs VLAN segmentation, PoE for cameras or access points, or central management, SourceIT can quote the equivalent Omada smart or managed switch.
Ideal For
Singapore home offices, clinics, studios, retail back offices and meeting rooms that need eight reliable wired ports with no setup - workstations, NAS, printers, IP phones, media players and wired access points. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — LS108G
Does the LS108G need any setup?
No. It is unmanaged and plug-and-play. Connect the supplied 9 V adapter, patch your devices in, and each port negotiates its own speed and duplex automatically.
Can I use the LS105G's power adapter with it?
No. The LS108G takes a 9 V DC / 0.6 A adapter while the five-port LS105G takes 5 V DC / 0.6 A. Use the adapter supplied in the box.
Does it supply PoE to cameras or access points?
No. The LS108G has no PoE ports. A powered device needs a PoE injector or a PoE switch, both of which SourceIT can quote.
Can it be managed, or added to an Omada controller?
No. There is no management interface and it cannot be adopted by Omada. Where VLANs, PoE or central management are needed, SourceIT can specify an Omada smart or managed switch with the same port count.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every LS108G sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice and local warranty support.
