PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada 18-Port Gigabit Smart Switch with 16-Port PoE+ (SG2218P) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The SG2218P puts sixteen Gigabit PoE+ ports and two Gigabit SFP slots into a silent, fanless 440 mm chassis. It is aimed at sites that need many powered ports rather than a large power budget per port - dense IP phone, camera and access point deployments - and it is adopted and managed from an Omada Controller alongside the rest of the network.
Sixteen PoE+ Ports Sharing a 150 W Budget
All sixteen copper ports are 802.3af/at PoE+ capable and can deliver up to 30 W individually, drawing on a shared 150 W budget. That design favours port count over per-port power: it suits sixteen IP phones, door stations or low-draw cameras far better than sixteen high-power outdoor access points. Where a larger budget is needed across the same port count, the 28-port SG2428LP and SG2428P models step up to 150 W and 250 W with more headroom per device.
Completely Silent in a Rack-Width Chassis
At 440 x 180 x 44 mm the SG2218P is full rack width and 1U high, yet it is fanless - unusual at this port count and genuinely useful where the switch cannot be isolated behind a comms-room door. Offices with open racks, meeting rooms, classrooms, clinics and retail back-of-house all benefit from a switch that makes no noise at all. Power is internal, 100-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz, through a standard cord, and the unit is rated to 45 °C.
Two Gigabit SFP Slots for the Uplink
Two Gigabit SFP slots handle backhaul to the core or aggregation layer over fibre, giving distance beyond the 100 m copper limit and electrical isolation between floors or buildings. With sixteen access ports feeding them, the two slots can also be aggregated or used as a redundant pair depending on how the upstream switch is configured. Modules and patch leads are ordered separately to match the fibre type and run length on site.
36 Gbps Fabric With an 8K MAC Table
A 36 Gbps switching capacity and 26.78 Mpps forwarding rate account for all eighteen ports running full duplex at once, so the fabric itself never oversubscribes. The 8K MAC address table copes with a busy access layer carrying several VLANs plus the wireless clients behind any attached access points, while the 4.1 Mbit packet buffer and 9 KB jumbo frame support absorb the bursty transfers that surveillance recording and file backup produce.
Central Management Through Omada SDN
Adopted into the Omada Cloud-Based, Hardware or Software Controller, the SG2218P is configured, monitored and updated alongside every other Omada device on site - one set of VLANs, one set of policies, one view of the network. PoE ports can be scheduled and power-cycled remotely, which saves a site visit when a camera or phone needs a hard reset. The switch also runs standalone through its own web interface where a controller is not deployed.
Ideal For
Singapore offices, schools, clinics and retail sites powering a large number of phones, cameras and access points from one silent switch, and integrators who need rack-width PoE+ density without fan noise. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — SG2218P
Can all sixteen ports deliver 30 W at once?
No. Each port supports up to 30 W individually, but the sixteen ports share a total 150 W budget — roughly 9 W per port if all are in use. The SG2218P is built for port density with modest per-device draw. If your devices need more, look at the SG2428P with its 250 W budget.
Is it really fanless at this size?
Yes. Omada specifies the SG2218P as fanless, so it is silent and has no moving part to fail — practical for an open rack in an office or a classroom rather than a closed comms room.
Does the SG2218P need an Omada Controller?
No. It runs standalone through its own web interface. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what unlocks central configuration, monitoring, firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every unit. Send us your bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics.
