TP-Link InSight S425 2MP Full-Color Turret Network Camera, 2.8mm Lens (InSight S425(2.8mm)) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The InSight S425 is TP-Link's 2MP full-colour turret camera from the VIGI InSight series: 1920 x 1080 video, VIGI LightPro night vision, human and vehicle classification and an IP67 / IK08 metal housing, powered over a single PoE cable. This listing is the 2.8 mm fixed-lens version; the 4 mm lens version is available separately.
1080p Video With LightPro Night Vision
A 1/3-inch progressive-scan CMOS sensor with F2.0 aperture records 1920 x 1080 at up to 25 fps (50 Hz) or 30 fps (60 Hz). Two integrated infrared-white LEDs reach 30 m in both IR (850 nm) and white light. TP-Link's LightPro Night Vision switches intelligently between IR night vision and full-colour night vision when it detects people or vehicles, keeping footage discreet until there is something worth seeing in colour.
2.8 mm Lens Coverage and DORI Distances
At 2.8 mm, TP-Link publishes a field of view of horizontal 98.8°, vertical 53.5°, diagonal 117°, with DORI distances of detect 47 m (153 ft), observe 19 m (64 ft), recognise 9 m (31 ft), identify 5 m (15 ft). The 2.8 mm lens favours wide coverage of rooms, entrances and corridors close to the camera.
Human & Vehicle Classification and Smart Detection
Motion detection is enhanced with human and vehicle classification for more accurate alerts, and smart events cover intrusion, line crossing, region entering and exiting, people and vehicle detection. Alarm linkage covers FTP upload, push notifications, email and an alarm server.
H.265+ Compression and Built-In Microphone
H.265+ on the main stream, at 256 Kbps to 4 Mbps, cuts bandwidth and storage; TP-Link quotes savings of 57.5% versus H.264 and 15% versus H.265 (laboratory testing using a 3MP VIGI camera; actual results vary). A built-in microphone records within a 4.6 m (15 ft) radius. There is no speaker and no on-board memory card slot on this model, so recording is to a VIGI NVR or VMS.
IP67 and IK08 Metal Housing
The metal turret is rated IP67 waterproof and IK08 vandal-proof and operates from -30 °C to 60 °C, so the same camera can be fitted under an eave outdoors or in an accessible indoor position.

Does the InSight S425 need a VIGI recorder?
It needs somewhere to record: the S425 has no memory card slot, so pair it with a VIGI NVR, VIGI VMS / Cloud VMS or an ONVIF-compatible recorder. Live view works through the VIGI app and web UI.
Which lens should I choose?
This listing is the 2.8 mm version (horizontal 98.8°). Choose InSight S425(4mm) for the 4 mm lens; a longer focal length gives a narrower view with longer DORI distances.
How is it powered?
802.3af/at PoE over the network cable, or a 12 V DC adapter through a 5.5 mm coaxial plug. No adapter is listed in the box.
