The InSight S245 is TP-Link's VIGI 4MP full-colour dome camera: 2688x1520 recording, an F1.6 lens, 120 dB true WDR, two-way audio, a microSD slot up to 512 GB and People & Vehicle Analytics, in a metal housing rated IP67 and IK10. This listing is the 2.8 mm lens version, giving a 100 degree horizontal view for broad coverage of rooms, lobbies, shop floors and corridor junctions from one position.
4MP Detail Across a 100 Degree View
The fixed 2.8 mm F1.6 lens gives a 100 degree horizontal, 54 degree vertical and 118 degree diagonal field of view. TP-Link publishes DORI distances for this lens of detect 64 m, observe 27 m, recognise 13 m and identify 6 m. Maximum resolution is 2688x1520 at up to 25 fps (50 Hz) or 30 fps (60 Hz), with main-stream bit rates up to 6 Mbps, so the extra pixels over a 2MP camera give usable detail across the full width of the scene.
People and Vehicle Analytics for Faster Post-Event Search
With VIGI-specified software, People & Vehicle Analytics lets operators search and filter recorded footage for a person or vehicle of interest by attributes, cutting the time spent scrubbing through video after an incident. On the camera itself, motion detection is enhanced with human and vehicle classification, and smart events include intrusion, line-crossing, region entering and exiting, object abandoned and removed, loitering, people and vehicle detection, abnormal sound and scene change detection.
Active Defence and Two-Way Audio
A built-in microphone (5 m pickup radius) and speaker provide two-way audio, and alarm linkage includes Active Defence sound and light alarms alongside memory-card recording, FTP upload, push notifications, email and alarm-server output. That lets the camera challenge an intruder or speak to a visitor directly rather than only recording the event.
120 dB True WDR and Smart Video Enhancement
True WDR at 120 dB blends exposures so bright doorways and windows and darker interiors stay properly exposed in the same frame; TP-Link notes only DWDR is available when People & Vehicle Analytics is enabled. Smart IR, 3D DNR and white balance complete the processing chain, with two IR LEDs and two white LEDs reaching 30 m for infrared or full-colour night footage and 0 lux minimum illumination with the illuminators on.
On-Board microSD, PoE and a Vandal-Resistant Metal Dome
A built-in slot takes a microSD card up to 512 GB (not included), so the camera can record locally or keep recording if the link to the NVR drops. Power is 802.3af/at PoE (class 0, max 12.52 W) or 12 V DC (max 10.54 W). The metal housing is rated IP67 waterproof and IK10 vandal-proof and specified for -30 to 60 degrees C.

Published Notes
TP-Link publishes two hardware versions (V1 and V1.20) that differ in sensor size; the 2.8 mm field of view is the same on both. People & Vehicle Analytics must be used with VIGI specified software, and when it is enabled only DWDR is supported. The microSD card is not included. H.265+ storage figures are based on laboratory testing using a 3MP VIGI camera; actual performance may vary. Only the 2.8 mm lens figures are published on this listing; the 4 mm version is listed separately.

Frequently Asked Questions — InSight S245(2.8mm)
Does the S245 need a VIGI recorder?
No. It can record to a microSD card of up to 512 GB on its own and be viewed in the VIGI App. A VIGI NVR is recommended for continuous recording, longer retention and multi-camera playback, and People & Vehicle Analytics requires VIGI specified software.
Should I choose the 2.8 mm or 4 mm lens?
The 2.8 mm lens gives the wider 100° horizontal view for overall room coverage (identify 6 m). The 4 mm lens narrows the view to about 80° and extends the published distances to detect 80 m and identify 8 m.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every order.
Is stock held locally?
Fast-moving VIGI lines are held in Singapore; anything not in local stock is brought in on indent. Ask us for the current lead time before committing to an installation date.
