TP-Link UB400 Bluetooth 4.0 Nano USB Adapter
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Bluetooth 4.0 Nano USB Adapter (UB400) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The UB400 is TP-Link's entry-level Bluetooth dongle: Bluetooth 4.0 on a USB 1.1 interface, in a nano body of 14.8 x 6.8 x 18.9 mm that sits nearly flush in the port. It is the cheapest way to give a desktop PC or an older laptop a Bluetooth radio for a wireless mouse, keyboard or headset, and it is priced to deploy across a whole office at once.
Bluetooth 4.0 in a Nano Body
TP-Link publishes Bluetooth 4.0 as the UB400's standard, over a USB 1.1 interface - which is the correct interface for a Bluetooth radio, because the bottleneck is the wireless link rather than the bus. At 14.8 x 6.8 x 18.9 mm the adapter protrudes barely at all, so it can live permanently in the back of a desktop or the side of a laptop without being knocked out or damaging the port.
Keyboards, Mice, Headsets and File Transfer
Once the host has a Bluetooth radio, it handles wireless keyboards, mice, presenters, headsets, speakers and phone file transfer in the usual way. The common Singapore office case is a desktop tower with no radio at all, paired with a wireless keyboard and mouse to clear the desk - and at this price that upgrade costs less than the cables it replaces.
Windows Support Back to XP
TP-Link publishes support for Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 and XP for the UB400, which is unusually broad and makes it a practical answer for machines that cannot be replaced yet - a lab PC, a machine tied to an old licence dongle, or a controller in a workshop. Windows 11 is not in TP-Link's published system requirements for this model; check the download page or ask SourceIT before a volume order on current hardware.
Certified and Simple
The UB400 carries FCC, CE and RoHS certification and draws its power from the USB port, with no adapter and nothing to configure beyond pairing. Operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C at 10% to 90% relative humidity, non-condensing.
Ideal For
Singapore offices, schools, workshops and home setups adding basic Bluetooth to desktops and older laptops - wireless keyboards and mice, headsets, presenters and occasional file transfer, bought in quantity. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — UB400
Should I buy the UB400 or the UB500?
The UB500 is the Bluetooth 5.0 model and is the better choice for new deployments. The UB400 is Bluetooth 4.0 on a USB 1.1 interface and is the cheaper option where the devices being paired are simple peripherals. Both are the same physical size.
How far does it reach?
TP-Link publishes no range figure in the UB400's specification table, so none is quoted here. Its own footnote notes that any distance data applies in an environment with few obstructions.
Will it run on Windows 11?
TP-Link's published system requirements for the UB400 list Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 and XP and do not mention Windows 11. Check the download page for current driver availability, or ask SourceIT to confirm.
Does it need a power adapter?
No. The UB400 is bus-powered from the USB port and ships with only a quick installation guide.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty. Every UB400 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice and local warranty support.
