The EAP783 is the highest-capacity ceiling access point in the Omada Wi-Fi 7 range: 19 Gbps across three radios, 4x4 MIMO on every band, and two 10G Ethernet ports that can be aggregated to 20G. It is built for the places where a single AP has to carry hundreds of clients at once — auditoriums, lecture theatres, open-plan floors and event spaces.

19 Gbps of Tri-Band Capacity With 4x4 MIMO on All Three Bands

The EAP783 delivers 11520 Mbps on 6 GHz, 8640 Mbps on 5 GHz and 1376 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. What separates it from the rest of the ceiling range is that all three radios run 4x4 MU-MIMO rather than 2x2, so the AP can serve four spatial streams to multiple clients simultaneously on every band. Combined with 320 MHz channels on 6 GHz, that is what allows Omada to rate this model for 760+ concurrent clients across roughly 200 m² (2150 ft²).

Two 10G Ports With 20G Link Aggregation

A 19 Gbps radio budget behind a single Gigabit uplink would be wasted, so the EAP783 provides two 10G Ethernet ports that support 20G aggregation speed. For a high-density deployment that means the wired side stops being the constraint, and it also gives you a redundant path to the switch: if one link or one switch port fails, the AP stays online. Power comes over 802.3bt PoE, with 12V DC as an alternative (the adapter is not supplied).

Multi-Link Operation and 4K-QAM for Lower Latency Under Load

Multi-Link Operation is the Wi-Fi 7 feature that changes how clients behave rather than just how fast they go. Instead of associating to one band and staying there, an MLO client transmits across the 6 GHz, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz radios at once, shifting traffic away from a link that has become congested. 4K-QAM raises the modulation ceiling to 12 bits per symbol. Together with OFDMA and BSS Coloring, the result is lower latency and less jitter for voice, video conferencing and interactive applications.

PPSK, WPA3 and Rogue AP Detection for Shared and Public Networks

The EAP783 supports Pre-Shared Key per client (PPSK), which gives every user or device its own passphrase on one SSID — useful for serviced offices, student housing and any site where handing out a shared Wi-Fi password is a liability. Alongside it you get WPA3-Personal and Enterprise, OWE for encrypted open networks, SSID-to-VLAN mapping, a MAC filter holding up to 4,000 entries, client isolation and rogue AP detection to flag unauthorised transmitters on site.

Centrally Managed Under Omada SDN

Every Omada device — gateway, switch and access point — is managed from one place: the Omada Cloud-Based Controller, a hardware controller such as the OC300 or OC200, or the Omada Software Controller. Adoption unlocks central configuration, firmware management across the estate, seamless roaming, Omada Mesh, email alerts and cloud access with no licence fee. The EAP783 also runs standalone through its own web interface, and supports SNMP v1/v2c/v3, SSH and the Omada app for mobile administration.
