PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender (RE305) - 3 Years Local Warranty

The RE305 is TP-Link’s long-running AC1200 wall-plug extender: 867 Mbps on 5 GHz, 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, two aimable external antennas and a 10/100 Ethernet port in a compact 80 x 78 x 77 mm body. It is the volume seller of the AC range and the usual answer to one weak room.

AC1200 Across Both Bands

TP-Link rates the RE305 at up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. For the work most extenders actually do — video calls from a back bedroom, streaming in a room the router cannot reach, keeping smart-home devices attached — that is ample. Published wireless functions are wireless statistics, a concurrent mode boosting both bands, access control, LED control and a domain login function.

Two External Antennas You Can Aim

The two external antennas are the practical difference between the RE305 and the slimmer RE330. Once the extender is in its final socket, angling the antennas toward the router usually buys a measurable improvement in the link back — which is the part of the chain that limits everything downstream of it.

Compact Body, Low Draw

At 80 x 78 x 77 mm and a maximum 7.3 W from a 100-240 V outlet, the RE305 sits square against the wall rather than hanging down, and its running cost is negligible. Transmission power is rated under 17 dBm on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

Range Extender and Access Point Modes

Working modes are Range Extender and Access Point. The Ethernet port is 10/100 Mbps, so a device wired through the extender is capped at 100 Mbps — fine for a TV or a console, less so for a NAS. Wireless security covers 64/128-bit WEP and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK.

Ideal For

Singapore flats and small offices with one problem room, and buyers who want a proven, inexpensive AC-class extender rather than a Wi-Fi 6 model. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice.

Frequently Asked Questions — RE305

RE305 or RE330?

Identical speed ratings and the same 10/100 port. The RE305 has two external antennas you can aim and a squarer 80 x 78 x 77 mm body; the RE330 is slimmer with two internal antennas, and TP-Link markets the RE330 as forming a OneMesh network with a OneMesh router. Choose on placement and on whether single-Wi-Fi-name roaming matters, rather than on speed.

Will it work with my ISP router?

Yes, in Range Extender mode with any standard Wi-Fi router or gateway. TP-Link publishes no mesh technology for this model, so the extended network is configured on its own rather than merging into the router’s.

How fast is the Ethernet port?

10/100 Mbps, so a wired device behind the extender is capped at 100 Mbps.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Three years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link’s published replacement warranty for this category. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
