PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 8-Port 10/100Mbps + 3-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch with 8-Port PoE+ (TL-SL1311P) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SL1311P puts eight 802.3at PoE+ ports, two Gigabit RJ45 ports and a Gigabit SFP slot into a fanless 209 mm desktop chassis on a 65 W PoE budget. Four hardware buttons — Extend, two Isolation ranges and PoE Auto Recovery — give an installer the controls that normally require a managed switch, with nothing to configure.
Eight 802.3at PoE+ Ports on a 65 W Budget
Ports 1 to 8 are 802.3af/at compliant and share a 65 W system budget — well matched to a set of fixed-dome IP cameras, VoIP handsets or 802.3af access points, where per-device draw sits in the 4-13 W range. Power negotiation is automatic, and non-PoE devices connected to the same ports simply get data. If the load is 802.3at PTZ domes or illuminated cameras, the TL-SL1311MP is the same switch with a 124 W budget.
Two Gigabit Uplinks Plus a Gigabit SFP Slot
Two Gigabit RJ45 ports and one Gigabit SFP port handle backhaul. Eight Fast Ethernet access ports can generate at most 800 Mbps in total, so one Gigabit uplink already carries the switch with room to spare; the second RJ45 usually goes straight to an NVR or a server, and the SFP slot reaches a core switch over fibre when the run passes 100 m or crosses buildings. The 7.6 Gbps fabric and 5.6544 Mpps forwarding rate mean the switch itself is never the constraint.
Four Hardware Modes — Extend, Isolation and PoE Auto Recovery
Extend mode covers both ports 1-4 and ports 1-8 and carries power and data up to 250 m, reaching a perimeter camera or a gate reader without an intermediate cabinet. Isolation mode confines ports 1-8 to the uplink, so one compromised edge device cannot reach another. PoE Auto Recovery monitors powered devices on ports 1-8 and power-cycles a port whose device has stopped responding — which resolves most frozen-camera faults without anyone attending site.
Silent Fanless Build With a Lock Point
At 209 × 126 × 26 mm with no fan, the TL-SL1311P is quiet enough for a reception desk, a retail back office or a consulting room rather than only a comms cupboard. A physical security lock point secures it where it sits in the open. Power comes from an external 53.5 VDC / 1.31 A adapter, and draw is 5.61 W idle against 77.32 W with a full 65 W of powered devices attached. Rated operating range is 0-40 °C.
Unmanaged, With the Controls That Matter in Hardware
There is no web interface, no CLI and no controller adoption. For a small camera or voice cluster that is usually the right answer: no configuration state to lose, no credentials to rotate, no firmware policy to maintain. The mode buttons cover the two things installers most often reach for — long cable runs and port isolation — without introducing a configuration surface. Where VLAN tagging, 802.1X or central monitoring are genuinely required, the JetStream and Omada managed ranges cover the same port counts.
Ideal For
Singapore SMEs, retail outlets, clinics and small offices powering a handful of cameras, handsets or access points where there is no rack, and integrators who want long-reach runs and auto-recovery without switch administration. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SL1311P is an unmanaged switch. Extend, Isolation and PoE Auto Recovery are hardware buttons on the unit; there is no web interface, no CLI and no SNMP agent, and the switch cannot be adopted into an Omada SDN Controller or managed from the Omada app. Where VLANs, 802.1X or central monitoring are required, SourceIT can quote a JetStream smart or Omada-managed switch.
| Management | Unmanaged — hardware mode buttons only |
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported on this model |
| Powered Devices | Any IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at compliant PD — IP cameras, access points, VoIP phones, access-control readers |
| Optics | Gigabit SFP port accepts a 1000BASE-X MMF or SMF module |
| Long-Reach Cabling | Extend mode supports up to 250 m on a single run at reduced throughput |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SL1311P
TL-SL1311P or TL-SL1311MP?
Identical ports, chassis and fabric — the difference is the PoE budget and the supplied adapter: 65 W on the P, 124 W on the MP. Choose the P for 802.3af cameras, handsets and lighter access points; choose the MP if any device is 802.3at or if you want headroom to add devices later.
How many cameras will 65 W run?
A typical fixed-dome 802.3af camera draws 4-8 W, so eight ports is realistic. PTZ domes, IR illuminators and heated housings draw far more. Send SourceIT the camera model list and we will calculate the real load before you order.
What does PoE Auto Recovery do?
It watches each powered device and automatically power-cycles the port if that device stops responding — usually clearing a frozen camera or access point without anyone going to site.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, under TP-Link's Omada replacement warranty policy. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the switching, optics, cabling and any Omada gateway or access points alongside it, with local warranty and support.
