Twenty-Four PoE+ Ports in One 1U Chassis

Twenty-six 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports and two Gigabit SFP ports make up the port count, with twenty-four of the copper ports delivering 802.3at/802.3af power from a shared 250 W budget. Because the budget is shared rather than per-port, the practical device count depends on draw: twenty-four low-power fixed cameras fit comfortably, while a floor of PoE+ access points at full draw will not. The switch runs on 100-240 V AC and draws 27 W with nothing powered, 304.7 W at full PoE load.

Rated to 50 C With a Security Lock Slot

The 440 x 220 x 44 mm chassis is 19-inch 1U rack mountable with a physical security lock, and two fans manage the thermal load. TP-Link publishes an operating range of 0-50 C — the figure that matters where the switch lives in a riser, ceiling space or back-of-house cupboard rather than an air-conditioned comms room. Maximum heat dissipation is 92.1 BTU/h idle and 1,039.0 BTU/h at full PoE load, which is worth allowing for in a sealed cabinet.

Two SFP Uplinks and Static Link Aggregation

The two Gigabit SFP ports accept 1000BASE-X multimode or single-mode optics, so the uplink to the core can run over fibre for distance or inter-building isolation. Static link aggregation lets the uplinks be bonded for capacity and resilience — worth doing on a switch carrying twenty-four camera streams back to a recorder.

VLANs, QoS, Multicast Control and PoE Auto Recovery

Up to 32 VLANs are available at once from the full 4K VLAN ID range in MTU, port-based and 802.1Q tag-based modes. QoS covers port-based, 802.1p and DSCP priority across four queues with rate limiting and storm control. IGMP Snooping v1/v2/v3 keeps multicast confined to ports that requested it, PoE Auto Recovery power-cycles a hung camera or access point, and cable diagnostics, port mirroring and loop prevention complete the toolkit. Switching capacity is 56 Gbps with an 8K MAC table, 4.1 Mbit of buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames.
