PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 16-Port Gigabit Easy Smart PoE Switch with 8-Port PoE+ (TL-SG1016PE) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SG1016PE is a rack-mountable sixteen-port Easy Smart switch with eight 802.3at PoE+ ports sharing a 110 W budget. It is the model to reach for when a floor's worth of cameras or access points needs power and VLAN segmentation from a single 1U unit with a security lock slot.
Sixteen Gigabit Ports With Eight PoE+ Outputs
Ports 1-8 deliver 802.3at power up to 30 W each, drawn from a shared 110 W budget; all sixteen ports run at 10/100/1000 Mbps with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX. That is enough to power eight ordinary IP cameras, or a smaller number of higher-draw PoE+ access points, while the remaining eight ports handle uplinks, servers and workstations. Mains power comes from the supplied cord rather than an external brick.
1U Rack Chassis With a Physical Security Lock
The chassis measures 294 x 180 x 44 mm and mounts in both 13-inch and 19-inch 1U racks — useful in the shallow wall cabinets common in Singapore retail and F&B sites. A physical security lock slot is provided, which matters where the switch sits in a semi-public riser or back-of-house cupboard. One fan handles the thermal load from PoE delivery.
VLANs, QoS and PoE Auto Recovery From One Web Interface
Up to 32 VLANs can be active at once, drawn from the full 4K VLAN ID range, in MTU, port-based and 802.1Q tag-based modes — the mechanism that keeps a camera network separate from staff data on shared switching. QoS covers port-based, 802.1p and DSCP priority across four queues with rate limiting and storm control. PoE Auto Recovery power-cycles a port whose device has stopped responding, so a frozen camera restarts itself rather than waiting for a site visit.
Multicast Control and Diagnostics for Surveillance Traffic
IGMP Snooping v1/v2/v3 keeps multicast confined to the ports that requested it — the single most useful feature on a switch carrying camera streams. Link aggregation widens the uplink to the core, port mirroring gives an analyser somewhere to sit, cable diagnostics identify a failing run from the browser, and loop prevention guards the accidental patch loop. Switching capacity is 32 Gbps with an 8K MAC address table, 4.1 Mb of packet buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames.
Ideal For
Singapore surveillance installs, retail and F&B sites, offices and schools needing eight PoE+ ports and sixteen Gigabit connections in a lockable 1U chassis, and integrators standardising the camera access layer. Supplied by SourceIT with five years local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Certification is listed by TP-Link as FCC and RoHS for this model — CE is not stated, unlike several sibling models, and is therefore not claimed here. TP-Link does not publish an EAN or carton pack size. The packet forwarding rate row is omitted because the published figure carries an inconsistent unit; ask us and we will confirm it against the datasheet before you specify it.
Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SG1016PE is an Easy Smart switch, managed on its own through a web browser or TP-Link's Easy Smart Configuration Utility. It is not an Omada SDN device and cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller — though it will power and carry traffic for Omada access points and other PoE devices. Where the switch itself must appear in an Omada Controller, ask us about the Omada JetStream smart and L2+ managed PoE ranges.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — this model cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller |
| Omada App / Omada Cloud Access | Not supported |
| Powering PoE Devices | Supported — 802.3at powered devices up to 30 W each within the 110 W budget |
| Standalone Management | Supported — web-based GUI and Easy Smart Configuration Utility |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG1016PE
How many cameras will the 110 W budget power?
Eight typical fixed IP cameras drawing under 13 W each fit comfortably. PTZ cameras or PoE+ access points draw considerably more, so send us the device list and we will work the budget through with you.
Will it fit a shallow wall cabinet?
TP-Link lists it as both 13-inch and 19-inch 1U rack mountable, and the chassis is 180 mm deep — so it suits shallow wall racks as well as standard comms cabinets.
Can it be adopted into an Omada Controller?
No. It manages itself through its own web interface. It can still power Omada access points — only the switch stays outside controller management.
Is it fanless?
No. It has one fan, which is what allows it to sustain the PoE load. If silence is a requirement, ask us about the fanless models with smaller PoE budgets.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty under TP-Link's replacement warranty policy for Easy Smart PoE switches, with a GST invoice on every order.
