TP-Link 16-Port 10/100Mbps + 2-Port Gigabit Unmanaged PoE Switch (TL-SL1218MP) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SL1218MP is the higher-budget sibling in TP-Link's 16-port Fast Ethernet PoE rackmount line: the same sixteen powered access ports and two Gigabit uplinks, but a 192 W PoE budget and two combo Gigabit SFP slots rather than one. It is the version to specify when the powered devices are 802.3at rather than 802.3af.
192 W Across 16 PoE Ports — Headroom for 802.3at Devices
Ports 1 to 16 are 802.3at/802.3af compliant, and the 192 W system budget averages 12 W per port with every port loaded — enough that a full bank of 802.3at devices can be powered rather than only a handful. That matters for PTZ cameras, dual-band access points, video door stations and IR-illuminated cameras, all of which routinely exceed the 15.4 W that 802.3af allows. Nothing needs configuring: compliant devices negotiate and draw power automatically.
Two Combo Gigabit SFP Slots for Fibre Backhaul
Two 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports and two combo Gigabit SFP slots share the uplink duty. A second SFP slot is the practical difference from the TL-SL1218P: it allows two fibre paths, whether that is a redundant pair to the core or one leg to a core switch and one to an NVR in a different riser. With sixteen Fast Ethernet access ports the aggregate demand is at most 1.6 Gbps, so either uplink type has ample headroom over realistic traffic.
Extend Mode Carries Power and Data to 250 m
Extend mode raises the reach of a single run to 250 m for both PoE power and data, past the 100 m Ethernet limit. On a Singapore site that reaches a barrier controller at a car park entrance, a camera on a perimeter fence or an access point in a detached store, without an intermediate cabinet or a media converter pair. Throughput is reduced in Extend mode, which suits low-bandwidth cameras and readers rather than workstations. Port priority mode is available where a subset of ports must be served first.
7.2 Gbps Fabric With an 8K MAC Table
The switch provides 7.2 Gbps of switching capacity and backup bandwidth, sized so all eighteen ports can run full duplex simultaneously. An 8K MAC address table is far more than an eighteen-port edge switch needs, so it will not begin flooding when a busy camera or voice segment sits behind it. MAC addresses are auto-learned and auto-aged, and IEEE 802.3x flow control moderates congestion on full-duplex links without any setup.
1U Rackmount Steel Chassis With Two Fans
The 440 × 180 × 44 mm chassis fits a standard rack and runs on universal 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, with no external power brick. Two fans manage the heat that 192 W of PoE circuitry produces; draw is 18.73 W idle and 217.22 W with a full 192 W of powered devices attached. Rated operating temperature is 0-40 °C, so a ventilated comms cupboard rather than an unconditioned plant room is the right home for it in Singapore.
Ideal For
Singapore integrators powering 802.3at cameras, access points or video door stations at the edge, and IT teams that want dual fibre uplink options in an unmanaged rack switch. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SL1218MP is an unmanaged switch. Extend and Priority modes are hardware switch positions on the unit; there is no web interface, no CLI and no SNMP agent, and the switch cannot be adopted into an Omada SDN Controller or managed from the Omada app. Where VLANs, 802.1X or central monitoring are required, SourceIT can quote a JetStream smart or Omada-managed switch of equivalent port count.
| Management | Unmanaged — hardware mode switches only |
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported on this model |
| Powered Devices | Any IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at compliant PD — IP cameras, access points, VoIP phones, access-control readers |
| Optics | Two combo Gigabit SFP slots accept 1000BASE-X MMF or SMF modules |
| Long-Reach Cabling | Extend mode supports up to 250 m on a single run at reduced throughput |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SL1218MP
TL-SL1218MP or TL-SL1218P — which do I need?
They are two different products. The MP has a 192 W PoE budget and two combo Gigabit SFP slots; the P has a 150 W budget and one combo SFP slot. Choose the MP if your powered devices are 802.3at, or if you want two fibre uplink options. Both have 16 Fast Ethernet PoE ports and two Gigabit RJ45 uplinks.
How many 802.3at devices will 192 W run?
802.3at allows up to 30 W at the port, so a worst case of six fully loaded devices — but few devices actually draw their class maximum continuously. Most 802.3at cameras and access points sit between 10 W and 20 W, which makes twelve to sixteen realistic. Send SourceIT the model list and we will calculate it properly.
Are the access ports Gigabit?
No — the sixteen PoE ports are 10/100 Mbps. Only the two RJ45 uplinks and the two combo SFP slots run at Gigabit. If your edge devices need Gigabit, ask us about the Gigabit PoE+ models in the range.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, under TP-Link's Omada replacement warranty policy. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the switching, optics, cabling and any Omada gateway or access points alongside it, with local warranty and support.
