Entry-Level Enterprise-Class Layer 2 Access Switch
The RUCKUS ICX 8100-48P is a 1U access switch from the RUCKUS ICX 8100 family, which RUCKUS positions as an entry-level enterprise-class L2 access switch. It has 48 x 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 ports with PoE+ (802.3at, up to 30 W per port) from a 370 W PoE budget and 4 x 1 GbE SFP uplink ports.
1 GbE SFP Uplinks
The standard ICX8100-48P has 4 x 1 GbE SFP uplink ports. If you need 10 GbE uplinks, the ICX8100-48P-X is the same switch with 1/10 GbE SFP+ uplinks.
PoE+ for Access Points, Cameras and Phones
Each RJ-45 port supplies 802.3at PoE+ at up to 30 W (Class 4), shared from a 370 W budget — suitable for Wi-Fi 6 access points such as the RUCKUS R550, IP cameras and IP phones.
Cloud, On-Premises or Controller-Less Management
RUCKUS lists RUCKUS One (cloud, AI-driven management and assurance), SmartZone (on premises) and RUCKUS Unleashed (controller-less), plus the CLI and a web-based standalone interface.
Supplied in Singapore with Local Warranty
RUCKUS covers the ICX 8100 with a limited lifetime warranty and 90 days of free RUCKUS TAC support; continued TAC access needs a RUCKUS support contract. Powering Access Points
802.3at PoE+ up to 30 W per port from a shared 370 W budget. For Wi-Fi 7 APs or devices that need 802.3bt, look at the ICX 8200 PoE+++ models.
Optics
The uplink ports accept 1 GbE SFP optics. Transceivers are sold separately; ask us for RUCKUS-qualified modules.
Stacking
RUCKUS documents are not consistent on ICX 8100 stacking (the product pages list stacking as not supported, while the data sheet table shows up to 4 units). Please confirm with us before designing a stack.
