The following are commonly asked about but are not stated on any current official Microsoft source for this product, so SourceIT does not quote them: the GPU hardware model or Azure virtual machine series, the size of the concurrency buffer or how often it may be exceeded, a minimum seat count, a separate lifecycle listing for the Flex edition and any annual or twelve-month term on its public pricing pages. We would rather leave a field blank than print a figure we cannot substantiate.

SourceIT sells this as a twelve-month subscription with a GST invoice in Singapore. The subscription is a right to use the service for the term, not a perpetual licence: when the term ends the entitlement ends unless it is renewed.

Microsoft's own public Windows 365 pricing pages publish only a monthly, auto-renewing subscription — the twelve-month term is a partner purchasing construct, not a Microsoft-published retail term, and this page does not present it as one. Ask our team to confirm the commitment, renewal and mid-term change terms in writing with your quotation. Microsoft's lifecycle page places Windows 365 under the Modern Lifecycle Policy, start date 2 August 2021, status "In Support", with no retirement date published — but note that page tracks only the Business and Enterprise editions and does not separately list Flex or the GPU offerings. The one published change to this product is the name: Windows 365 Frontline became Windows 365 Flex in the week of 4 May 2026, with product, licensing and capabilities unchanged. There is a second, shorter clock that catches people out, and it is separate from the subscription lifecycle. If a licence is unassigned from a user, or the user is removed from the provisioning policy while the subscription is still live, Microsoft moves that Cloud PC into a seven-day grace period: "the user can continue using the Cloud PC for seven days. After the seven-day grace period expires, the user is logged off the Cloud PC. They'll lose access and the Cloud PC will be deprovisioned." An administrator can end it early, and Microsoft's warning is blunt: "Ending the grace period is a destructive action. The Cloud PC, operating system, and user data are permanently deleted." Before you commit to a term, know what cancellation actually does. Microsoft publishes that on early cancellation the subscription "moves directly to Disabled stage (90 days)", the "Cloud PC is immediately deprovisioned" and "Data within the Cloud PC is deleted immediately". There is no thirty-day window and no seven-day grace on that path. Tenant-level customer data is retained for the 90-day Disabled window and "will be deleted no later than 180 days after cancellation". Back up anything that matters before you cancel, and talk to us first — there is usually a better-shaped answer than cancelling mid-term.

Talk to our team before the renewal date rather than after it. Seat counts, mid-term changes and co-terming with the rest of your Microsoft estate are all easier to arrange in advance, and we can quote the alternatives if a bundle would work out better for you.

Support and Entitlement Position

This is a software subscription, not hardware. It carries no hardware warranty, and any warranty term you see on a hardware listing does not apply here. What you are buying is a twelve-month right to use the service, together with SourceIT's local support in Singapore. Microsoft's own condition is that technical and billing support for a subscription bought through a partner runs through that partner, so for this subscription that means us: raise the ticket with SourceIT and we escalate to Microsoft where it needs to go. Renewal, seat changes and co-terming are handled on your SourceIT account. Ask our team for the current entitlement position in writing with your quotation.

Size this against peak simultaneous use, never against headcount. Microsoft's rule is that the number of simultaneously active sessions can never exceed the number of Flex licences bought — in dedicated mode the maximum is limited by "The total number of Windows 365 Flex licenses purchased for the tenant, excluding licenses used for Shared mode Cloud PCs", and in shared mode by "The number of Windows 365 Flex licenses allocated to the group". Tell us your genuine peak concurrency and we will size it with you.

In shared mode, plan for the data behaviour: Microsoft states plainly that "User data is deleted after each session", with user-specific app data and Windows settings preserved in the cloud only when User Experience Sync is enabled. Shared mode is also "Currently only available for Azure Global Cloud". If your users need their work to persist on the Cloud PC between sessions, dedicated mode is the one you want.

Is this the same thing as Windows 365 Flex?

Yes. Microsoft renamed Windows 365 Frontline to Windows 365 Flex in the week of 4 May 2026, publishing that "The product, licensing, and capabilities are unchanged—only the name is different." Microsoft's own pages still use both names in places, including its Flex price list.

How many people can share one licence?

As many as you like across a day, but only one at a time. Microsoft's planning table gives one active session per licence in both dedicated and shared mode. In dedicated mode a licence can provision up to three Cloud PCs, each dedicated to a specific user, but still only one of them may be active. That distinction — rotation, not simultaneity — is the single most common mis-sale in this range.

Does the concurrency buffer help us here?

No, not on a GPU licence. Microsoft states: "The concurrency buffer doesn't apply to GPU-enabled Cloud PCs and Windows 365 Flex Cloud PCs in Shared mode." So the one-session-per-licence limit is hard. Microsoft does not publish the size of the buffer for the cases where it does apply, so no figure is given for those either.

Does user data survive between sessions?

In dedicated mode, yes: "User data persists between sessions." In shared mode, no: "User data is deleted after each session", unless User Experience Sync is enabled, in which case user-specific app data and Windows settings are stored in the cloud. Choose the mode with that in mind.

Is this GPU size actually available on Flex?

GPU Standard appears on Microsoft's published Windows 365 Flex price list. GPU Super and GPU Max do not, even though Microsoft's GPU documentation states that all four GPU offerings are available on Flex. Where Microsoft's own sources disagree we say so rather than assume, and we will confirm availability and pricing in writing before we accept an order. Windows 365 Enterprise GPU is published for GPU Standard, Super and Max if Flex turns out not to be.
