PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Edition 1 Device Online Download (FQC-10572) - Local Support
What this licence is
This is a Windows 11 Pro licence for one device, delivered as a product key and download rather than on physical media. Functionally it is the same edition as the boxed DVD SKU; what differs is the delivery. The licence is perpetual and does not renew. The Windows version installed on the machine does carry a published end-of-servicing date, and those dates are set out below.
Read this if the machine already runs Windows 10
Microsoft's store page for the downloadable Windows 11 Pro licence carries an explicit warning worth repeating here: it is designed for PCs that need a new licence for Windows and that meet the minimum system requirements for Windows 11, and if a PC running Windows 10 cannot use Windows Update to install the free upgrade to Windows 11, it will not be able to install this version either. In other words, this SKU is not a workaround for hardware that fails the Windows 11 eligibility check. Verify with Microsoft's PC Health Check app first.
The hardware floor
Microsoft requires UEFI firmware that is Secure Boot capable and Trusted Platform Module version 2.0, alongside a compatible 64-bit processor with two or more cores, 4 GB of memory and a 64 GB storage device. These are hard requirements. The full published list is in the system requirements section below.
Servicing: the licence is perpetual, the version is not
Windows 11 Pro follows Microsoft's Modern Lifecycle Policy. Microsoft releases a new version once a year and services each Home and Pro version for 24 months from its release date. Enterprise, Education and IoT Enterprise get 36 months. A machine left on an out-of-service version stops receiving security updates even though the licence remains valid.
Pro against Home — and what we will not claim
Microsoft's own consumer comparison page publishes a security table and little else. It distinguishes Device encryption, which both editions have, from BitLocker Drive Encryption, which only Pro has. Beyond that, the one difference documented on a separate Microsoft page is Hyper-V, which Microsoft documents as installable on Pro and Enterprise and explicitly not on Home. The wider management feature set often attributed to Pro — Entra or Active Directory domain join, Group Policy, Windows Update for Business, Assigned Access, mobile device management, Autopilot, and Remote Desktop as a host rather than a client — is not set out on a Microsoft comparison table, so this page does not assert any of it. If one of those capabilities is the reason for the purchase, ask us and we will confirm it against Microsoft's documentation for your scenario before you commit.

Licence terms

| Support | Microsoft's terms state Microsoft provides limited support services for properly licensed retail software. Local pre-sales and fulfilment support on this order is provided by us. |
| Documentation caveat | Microsoft does not publish a Windows 11 retail licence terms document at a live URL. The transfer wording above is from the retail packaged Windows terms (June 2018) and the stand-alone clause of the Windows 11 OEM terms (April 2024), both linked below. |
Servicing lifecycle

Frequently Asked Questions — Windows 11 Pro
Does this licence expire?
No. The licence is perpetual. What expires is the Windows VERSION installed on the machine. Microsoft services each Windows 11 Pro version for 24 months from its release date, so staying supported means taking the annual feature update. The servicing table in the first section gives the published dates for every version.
Will it run on my machine?
Only if the machine meets every line of Microsoft's minimum requirements, and the two that stop most upgrades are TPM 2.0 and UEFI Secure Boot capability. A machine that predates those is not made eligible by buying a licence. Check with Microsoft's PC Health Check app before ordering.
Do I need a Microsoft account?
Microsoft's specifications page states that Windows 11 Pro for personal use and Windows 11 Home require internet connectivity and a Microsoft account during initial device setup. Microsoft's Learn requirements page states the same for Home. We quote both because the two pages differ in scope.
Can I move this licence to a different computer later?
Microsoft's terms for stand-alone software permit transfer to another device you own, with the software removed from the previous one. This differs from an OEM licence, which Microsoft's terms tie to the device it was supplied with. See the licence terms table above and the two Microsoft PDFs linked in the documentation section.
What is this page based on?
Microsoft's own published documentation, listed in full in the Official Microsoft Documentation section above: the Windows 11 specifications page, the requirements and Home-and-Pro lifecycle pages on Microsoft Learn, the Windows lifecycle FAQ, Microsoft's Home-versus-Pro comparison, and Microsoft's licence terms PDFs. Where Microsoft publishes no figure for this part number — a language entitlement, or a management capability its own comparison table does not cover — this page says so rather than filling the gap.
