The Lenovo TWS Earbuds X9 Edition are the only product in our Lenovo audio range with a published active noise cancellation figure: Lenovo's own launch material states hybrid ANC of up to -40 dB. They also carry Dolby Atmos and a three-microphone ENC system with what Lenovo calls voiceprint noise-cancelling technology for calls.

Most business headsets clean up only the microphone. These do both: ANC quiets your surroundings for you, and the three-microphone ENC cleans up what the far end hears. Every other headset and speakerphone in this range publishes the second only.

Lenovo positions these as the companion to the ThinkPad X9 series and describes them as "powered by your PC". Two different things both called "noise cancelling"
This matters when comparing headsets and speakerphones, and it is the specification most often blurred. ENC — environmental noise cancellation — cleans up the microphone so the people you are talking to hear less of your surroundings. ANC — active noise cancellation — uses the speakers to cancel noise so you hear less of your surroundings. A product can have one, both or neither, and most business headsets in this price range have only the first. On every page in this range we state which one Lenovo actually publishes, and we do not describe an ENC product as noise cancelling without qualification.
These are the ANC product in this range. If a user needs to concentrate in an open-plan office, or work on a plane or a train, ANC is what they actually want and it is the one thing every other headset here does not have. Lenovo's published figure is hybrid ANC up to -40 dB, from its own launch material.
What Lenovo does not tell you, which is a lot. No driver size, no battery capacity, no charging time, no charging connector, no dimensions, no weight, no IP rating, no codec list and no box contents. Lenovo publishes no datasheet for these earbuds at all — the figures above come from Lenovo's product pages and its CES launch material. The ThinkPad X9 framing, read carefully. Lenovo markets these as the X9's companion and uses the phrase "powered by your PC". That is positioning, not a stated requirement — they are ordinary Bluetooth 5.3 earbuds and will pair with anything. What Lenovo has not published is whether every feature behaves identically on a non-X9 host. If you are buying them for a mixed fleet, tell us and we will check.
