A 15.6-Inch Travelling Second Screen at 900 Grams
The ThinkVision M15 is the largest of Lenovo's original mobile monitors: 15.6 inches of Full HD in a 900-gram body just 6 mm thick at the head, with a sleeve in the box. It matches the screen size of a standard business laptop, so the two sit side by side without one dwarfing the other.
Two USB-C Ports and 65 W Power Pass-Through
Both USB-C ports carry DisplayPort 1.2 Alt Mode, one upstream and one downstream. Lenovo's datasheet describes up to 65 W power pass-through, so one adapter can run the monitor and charge the laptop at the same time. A port on each side means the cable takes the shortest route to whichever side your laptop's port is on.
Be Clear-Eyed About the Panel
This is where the M15 sits honestly in the range: 250 cd/m² brightness and 45% NTSC colour coverage — the dimmest and least saturated panel of the five ThinkVision portables. For spreadsheets, email and code in an office it is entirely adequate. For colour work, or for use in bright daylight, the M14d's 100% sRGB panel is the better buy and is linked below.
The Usual Portable-Monitor Caveats, Stated Up Front
No power adapter, no speakers, no HDMI input. The monitor draws power from the host over USB-C, audio comes from your laptop, and video arrives only as DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C — so the host must support it.

Compatibility & Fit
The compatibility question that decides everything. Video reaches this monitor only as DisplayPort 1.2 Alt Mode over USB-C. There is no HDMI port. A laptop whose USB-C port carries data and power but not DisplayPort Alt Mode cannot drive it. Send us your laptop model and we will confirm before you order.
Which portable to buy. The M15 is the largest-screen model at the lowest panel specification. Take it when screen area matters more than colour or brightness — a 15.6-inch surface for spreadsheets and email beside a laptop, in normal office lighting. If the work is colour-sensitive, or the monitor will be used near windows, the M14d (2.2K, 100% sRGB, 375 nits peak) is the better panel despite the smaller size. Both are in the ordering table above.
Powering it. Normally the host laptop powers the monitor down the same cable that carries the picture. Use the second USB-C port with a Power Delivery adapter when you want the laptop charging at the same time, or when the host cannot spare the power. No adapter is included — ask us to quote a 65 W USB-C unit.
Mounting. Lenovo publishes 100 mm VESA support with 2 screw holes, so the M15 can sit on an arm as a fixed second screen rather than on its own stand.

Frequently Asked Questions — Lenovo ThinkVision M15
How does the M15 compare with the M16?
The M16 is larger (16"), 16:10 rather than 16:9 at 1920 x 1200, brighter (300 against 250 cd/m²) and higher contrast (1500:1 against 1000:1), and draws far less power (4.5 W typical against 8 W). Both are 45% NTSC. The M16 is the newer design; note, though, that Lenovo publishes no VESA support for the M16 while the M15 has 100 mm VESA. If you intend to mount it, that difference decides it.
Is the response time really 14 ms?
In Normal mode, yes; 6 ms in Extreme mode. Both are Lenovo's published figures. For office work neither matters. For anything motion-sensitive, a portable monitor over USB-C is not the right tool regardless of the number.
Does a power adapter come in the box?
No. Lenovo ships no power adapter with any monitor in this family. In most cases you do not need one — a laptop's USB-C port will power the monitor directly. You need an adapter only if your host cannot supply enough power, or if you want to charge the laptop and run the monitor from one wall socket at the same time. Lenovo's own datasheet recommends its 65 W adapter (part SA10E75874) for that. Ask us to quote one alongside the monitor.
Does it have speakers?
No. Lenovo publishes no audio specification for this monitor at all — no speakers, no headphone jack. Sound comes from your laptop or from a separate device. This surprises a lot of buyers, which is why we state it plainly rather than leaving it to be discovered.
Can I connect it over HDMI?
No. There is no HDMI or micro-HDMI port. Video arrives only as DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C, which means the host device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode on its USB-C port. Most business laptops from the last several years do; many budget laptops, some tablets and most desktop USB ports do not. If you are unsure about your machine, tell us the model and we will check before you order.
Will it work with a Mac, an iPad or a phone?
Any host that outputs DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C and can supply enough power will drive it. Lenovo publishes compatibility for Windows; it does not publish a certified list for macOS, iPadOS or Android for this model, so we will not claim one. If a specific device matters to you, ask us and we will check it against Lenovo before you commit.
How fast are the USB ports for data?
This is worth reading carefully. Lenovo labels the ports with a USB 3.x generation, but the data transfer rate published for them is USB 2.0. The downstream port is there for a mouse, a keyboard or a dongle — it is not a fast data hub, and an external SSD plugged into it will run at USB 2.0 speeds.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
Lenovo PSREF states a 3-year limited warranty as the base warranty for this model, and every unit SourceIT sells comes with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice.
