Lenovo Essential USB Mouse
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Lenovo Essential USB Mouse (4Y50R20863) - Local Warranty
A Full-Size Wired Mouse at 1600 DPI, for Fifteen Dollars
The Lenovo Essential USB Mouse is a wired USB-A mouse with a 1600 DPI red optical sensor, three buttons and two-way scrolling, on a 1.8 metre cable. It is plug-and-play with no driver to install — which on a locked-down corporate image is a feature, not a limitation.
Ambidextrous and Full-Size, at 70 Grams
62 x 111 x 34 mm and 70 grams, shaped symmetrically so left- and right-handed users get the same mouse. For a floor of hot desks that removes a stock-keeping decision.
Wired, Which Is the Point
Nothing to pair, nothing to charge, no dongle to lose and no battery to go flat mid-meeting. For shared desks, training rooms, kiosks and any position used by someone who did not set it up, a wired mouse is the one that is always working.
What Lenovo Publishes, and What It Does Not
Lenovo's brochure gives the sensor, DPI, buttons, dimensions, weight, cable length and a 1-year warranty. It publishes no box contents, no certifications and no recycled-content figure, and its stated operating-system support stops at Windows 10 — Lenovo has published no Windows 11 or macOS statement for it. In practice a plug-and-play USB mouse works everywhere, but we report what Lenovo states.

Compatibility & Fit
Where a wired mouse still wins. Hot desks, training rooms, reception counters, warehouse and workshop terminals, kiosks, and any position where the person using it did not set it up and cannot be expected to pair anything. A wired mouse has no battery to be flat, no dongle to have walked to another desk and no pairing to have dropped. At this price it is also the cheapest way to make sure every desk has a working mouse.
1600 DPI is a fixed figure here. Lenovo publishes one value and claims no switching, so do not buy this expecting adjustable sensitivity. If a user wants DPI control, the Wireless Multi-Mode Pro Combo 6000 in the ordering table is the product in this range with adjustable DPI.
It is USB-A. On a laptop with only USB-C ports you will need an adapter or a dock. Every ThinkPad and Lenovo dock we sell provides USB-A ports; ask us and we will quote one alongside.
On the Windows 10 support statement. Lenovo's published operating-system list for this mouse ends at Windows 10, and Lenovo has not updated it. A plug-and-play USB mouse using standard HID drivers works on Windows 11, macOS and Linux in practice. We report Lenovo's statement rather than making a compatibility claim Lenovo has not.

Datasheet & Downloads
Lenovo publishes no PSREF specification or dedicated datasheet for its input devices. The Lenovo Keyboards and Mice Brochure linked above is the source for every figure on this page. Note that a separate Lenovo partner flyer gives different figures for the compact wireless mouse in this range; where Lenovo's own documents disagree, we say so on the affected page.
Frequently Asked Questions — Lenovo Essential USB Mouse
Is the DPI adjustable?
Not that Lenovo publishes. A single 1600 DPI figure is stated with no switching claimed. If you want adjustable sensitivity, the Wireless Multi-Mode Pro Combo 6000 in the ordering table is the model with it.
Will it work on Windows 11 or a Mac?
Lenovo's published operating-system list for this mouse stops at Windows 10 and has not been updated. In practice a plug-and-play USB mouse using standard drivers works on Windows 11, macOS and Linux. We are telling you both things rather than making a claim Lenovo has not.
Is it left-handed friendly?
Yes — it is an ambidextrous, symmetrically shaped full-size mouse, so left- and right-handed users get the same product.
Does it need a USB-A port?
Yes. On a laptop with only USB-C ports you will need an adapter or a dock. We can quote either alongside.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
Lenovo publishes a 1-year warranty for this mouse. Every unit SourceIT sells also carries local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice.
