The HPE StoreEver MSL2024 0-drive Tape Library (AK379A) packs 24 cartridge slots and two drive bays into 2U — up to 1.08 PB of compressed LTO-9 capacity and 2.16 TB/hr throughput for mid-size backup windows.
Flexible, licence-free drive choice
Fit LTO-9 or LTO-8 SAS or Fibre Channel drive kits as your servers require; removable magazines and up to three mail slots make media rotation and offsite vaulting routine.
Ransomware-proof by design
Tape written and ejected is offline and air-gapped. Hardware encryption, WORM media and the web-based Remote Management Interface round out the package.

How many drives and which types?
Up to two half-height LTO-9 or LTO-8 drives, SAS or Fibre Channel, in any combination; drive kits install tool-free with no licence fee.
Can it grow beyond 24 slots?
Drives and media migrate to the HPE StoreEver MSL3040 scalable library (40 slots per module, up to 640 slots) when you outgrow the MSL2024.
Note on part numbers
HPE now lists this library as AK379B (MSL2024 Gen4); AK379A is the equivalent prior part supplied from distributor stock.
