What else do I need?
A 6Gb/12Gb SAS HBA with an external Mini-SAS HD port in the backup server (HPE Smart Array E208e-p SR Gen10, 804398-B21) plus an HPE 2.0 m External Mini-SAS HD to Mini-SAS cable (716191-B21), and your backup software.
Can I use LTO-9 media later?
Not with the LTO-8 drive. Swap in an HPE MSL LTO-9 SAS drive upgrade kit when you move to 45 TB cartridges.
