The Ergotron TRACE Monitor Mount in white carries one display from 21.5″ to 38″ weighing 6.5 to 21.5 lbs (2.9 to 9.8 kg), covering everything from a standard 24″ business monitor to a 38″ ultrawide. Patented Constant Force™ Technology with a linear guide system moves the screen through 11″ (28 cm) of lift at a fingertip and holds position indefinitely — there are no tension knobs to set and nothing to re-tighten as the arm ages.
240° of Pan, 360° Rotation, 15″ of Reach
TRACE pans a full 240° where most arms stop at 180°, tilts 80° and rotates 360° between portrait and landscape. Reach extends to 15″ (38.1 cm) and retracts back toward the desk edge. In shared and hot-desk environments that range is the difference between showing a colleague your screen and getting up to move a laptop.
A Clean White Finish That Frees the Desk
The white finish suits light-timber and white-laminate fit-outs and keeps the arm visually recessive against pale walls and partitions. Removing the factory stand hands the whole of that footprint back to the work surface — valuable on the compact desks typical of Singapore CBD offices and home setups — while integrated cable management routes cables along the arm and out of sight.

Compatibility & Fit
The Ergotron TRACE Monitor Mount carries one display from 21.5″ to 38″ weighing 6.5 to 21.5 lbs (2.9 to 9.8 kg). Both ends of that range matter: the Constant Force lift is counter-balanced, so a display lighter than 2.9 kg will not load the mechanism correctly, and anything above 9.8 kg exceeds the rating.
Mounting is via the two-piece desk clamp supplied in the box. Ergotron also offers a Slim Profile Clamp and a Grommet Mount as separate accessories if your desk edge or grommet layout suits those better — part numbers are listed in the Package Contents section below. Ergotron does not publish a desk-thickness figure on the TRACE product sheet, so if your desktop is unusually thick or has a lipped or reinforced edge, send SourceIT a photo and measurement before ordering and we will confirm the right clamp.
VESA fit: VESA MIS-D, covering the 75 x 75 mm and 100 x 100 mm hole patterns used by the great majority of business monitors. Displays with a non-standard or recessed rear housing may need the monitor maker's own VESA adapter plate — check the monitor's spec sheet.
Ultrawide and curved displays: the 38″ ceiling and 240° of pan make TRACE a natural fit for 34″ and 38″ ultrawides, which is where the single mount is most often specified. Curved panels mount normally provided the VESA pattern is standard and total weight stays within 9.8 kg. Very deep displays and heavy all-in-one chassis should be weighed first — the published figure is for the screen as mounted, brackets included.
Number of screens: one. If you need two displays on a TRACE, order the TRACE Dual Monitor Mount outright, or add the TRACE Dual Bow Conversion Kit (47-110-224) to an installed single mount.

What is the difference between the matte black and white finishes?
Nothing mechanical. 45-630-224 Matte Black and 45-630-216 White (this listing) are the same mount with the same capacity, lift, tilt, pan, rotation and extension — only the finish differs. Choose by desk and room colour. Note that the Slim Profile Clamp accessory is finish-matched (98-490-216 white, 98-490-224 matte black), while the grommet mount is offered in matte black only.
What size and weight of monitor does the TRACE take?
Ergotron rates it for a display of 21.5″ to 38″ weighing 6.5 to 21.5 lbs (2.9 to 9.8 kg). The minimum is as important as the maximum on a counter-balanced arm — a very light panel will not sit properly on the lift. Ergotron notes the screen size is a guide: you may exceed it as long as the weight stays inside the rating.
Can I run two monitors on this mount?
Not as supplied — this is a single-display mount. Two routes to dual: buy the TRACE Dual Monitor Mount (45-631) from the outset, or add the TRACE Dual Bow Conversion Kit (47-110-224) to a mount you already own. The dual configuration reduces the maximum screen size per display to 27″.
How does it attach to the desk, and will it fit a thick desktop?
The two-piece mounting clamp in the box clamps to the rear edge of the desk. Ergotron also sells a Slim Profile Clamp and a Grommet Mount for desks where the standard clamp is awkward. Ergotron does not publish a desk-thickness limit for TRACE on its product sheet, so for thick, lipped or reinforced desktops — and for most hot-desk benching systems — send SourceIT the measurement and we will confirm which clamp to order.
Do I need a VESA adapter?
Usually not. The quick-attach bracket covers VESA MIS-D, meaning 75 x 75 mm and 100 x 100 mm. Monitors that publish no VESA pattern, or that recess the pattern behind a curved housing, may need the display manufacturer's own adapter plate.
Is it suitable for sit-stand working?
Yes, within its 11″ (28 cm) of lift. The Constant Force mechanism moves the screen with a fingertip and holds position without knobs, so it tracks you comfortably across a seated range or on top of a height-adjustable desk. For a full sit-stand range from a fixed desk, look instead at Ergotron's sit-stand desk arms.
