Add a Second Screen to an Existing TRACE Mount

The Ergotron TRACE Dual Bow Conversion Kit converts your single configuration to a dual monitor set-up, in Ergotron's own words. Fit the bow and its two sliding pivots to an installed TRACE Monitor Mount (45-630-216 or 45-630-224) and a one-screen desk becomes a two-screen desk without replacing the mount, the clamp or the lift column. Note the direction — to convert a dual back to a single you need the Single Conversion Kit, 47-109-224.

One Lift Column, Two Displays

Because both screens share the host mount's Constant Force™ lift, they rise and fall together on a single consistent eye line — which is the ergonomic advantage a pair of separate arms cannot easily give you. The bow's sliding pivots let you set the gap between the two panels and angle each one inward, and each display still rotates a full 360° for portrait work.

A Cost-Effective Fleet Upgrade Path

For IT and facilities teams, this is the reason to specify single TRACE mounts as standard: desks that later need a second screen get upgraded individually instead of re-purchased. It is cheaper than a second mount, and it keeps one desk clamp on the rear edge rather than two — which matters on shallow desks and benching systems where rear-edge space is contested.

Direction of conversion: single → dual. Ergotron's official wording is that this kit “converts your single configuration to a dual monitor set-up.” If you need the opposite — taking a dual TRACE back to one screen — order the TRACE Single Conversion Kit (47-109-224). The two kit names are easy to transpose; check before ordering.

What it fits: an installed Ergotron TRACE Monitor Mount, 45-630-224 or 45-630-216. It is not a standalone mount — there is no base, lift column, arm or desk clamp in the box.

Screen size after conversion: Ergotron caps the complete TRACE Dual at 27″ per display. Plan a converted setup against that ceiling — two ultrawides will not work on a TRACE bow.

Weight: Ergotron publishes no separate capacity figure for the kit. The bow and second pivot add mass that the host mount's lift must carry, so a converted single mount should be planned conservatively. Send SourceIT both monitor models and your mount's part number and we will confirm against Ergotron's data.

Finish: matte black only. On a white 45-630-216 host mount the bow will not colour-match. If finish consistency matters, consider ordering the complete TRACE Dual in white (45-631-216).
