The Ergotron Tablet Management Desktop 16 (DM16-1024-3) is a compact, UL-certified steel charging cabinet that holds, charges and secures 16 tablets from one desk or counter. It is built for Singapore schools, polytechnics, clinics, training rooms and retail floors that issue a shared fleet of iPads each morning and need every unit charged, accounted for and locked away overnight — without a full-size charging cart or a dedicated store room.
A Full 2.4 A to Every Bay, Not Shared Between Them
Each of the 16 bays delivers the full 2.4 A charging current per device over USB, so a fleet charges at full rate rather than trickling because sixteen tablets are dividing one supply. That is the difference between a fleet that is ready for period one and one that is still catching up at recess.
Individual Status Indicators Show Exactly Which Tablets Are Ready
Ergotron's LED Individual Status Indicators (ISI) monitor the charging progress of each tablet separately — green for fully charged, amber for charging in progress. Staff can see at a glance which units are ready to hand out instead of unplugging devices to check, which is the single biggest time saver in a shared-device routine.
Sync Sixteen Tablets From One Laptop
Beyond charging, the unit syncs up to 16 tablets at once. Connect a laptop to the cabinet's USB port to push images, apps or content across the whole fleet, or manage the devices wirelessly — useful at the start of term or when rolling out a new app across a department.
Steel Doors With a Three-Point Lock, Sized for a Counter
Durable steel access doors with a three-point lock assembly provide strong theft deterrence, and two keys are supplied. The cabinet measures 18.3″W x 16.2″D x 10.4″H (46.5 x 41.1 x 26.4 cm) and weighs 29 lbs (13 kg) empty, so it sits on a desk, counter or reception top rather than occupying floor space. An optional security mounting kit bolts it down where the location is unattended, and a dedicated cable-management drawer inside each module keeps the sixteen charging leads out of sight.

Thick or rugged cases are the usual fit problem. The 0.85″ (2.2 cm) slot depth has to take the tablet, the case and the cable together. Slim folio and shell cases are generally fine; heavy-duty rugged cases with integrated handles often are not, and are best removed for charging or checked against the slot depth first.
Non-Apple tablets. Ergotron states compatibility for Apple iPads with a 10.5″ screen or smaller. Android and Windows tablets of similar size will usually seat in the bay, but the charging cable must be sourced separately and the fit should be confirmed against the slot dimensions above — SourceIT can check a specific model for you.

Which iPads does it fit?
Ergotron states any Apple iPad with a 10.5″ screen or smaller, up to 2.2 lbs (1 kg) each. Because the real constraint is the slot depth of 0.85″ (2.2 cm), a thick or rugged case may not fit even on a supported iPad — measure the device as you actually use it.
Are charging cables included?
No. DM16-1024-3 ships without charging cables. Ergotron's recommended companion is the Lightning to USB Cable Kit (97-800), which SourceIT can quote alongside the unit.
How fast does it charge, and do all 16 charge at the same rate?
Each bay delivers the full 2.4 A charging current per device over USB, so bays are not dividing a shared supply between them.
How do I know which tablets are ready?
LED Individual Status Indicators (ISI) monitor each tablet separately — green means fully charged, amber means charging in progress. A separate power LED shows solid when charging, a slow blink when the unit is ready to sync and a fast blink on a fault.
Can I sync the tablets as well as charge them?
Yes. Up to 16 tablets can be synced at once by connecting a laptop to the cabinet's USB port, and wireless management is also supported.
How secure is it, and can I bolt it down?
The cabinet uses durable steel access doors with a three-point lock assembly and ships with two keys. Note that this locks the cabinet as a whole — the 16 bays are not individually lockable. An optional security mounting kit (M6 security screws and wrench) lets you bolt the unit to a desk where it is left unattended.
Should I choose the desktop unit or a Zip cart?
The Desktop 16 suits a fixed base — a classroom, clinic or reception counter — where 16 devices are handed out and returned in the same room. Choose a Zip40 Charging and Management Cart when the fleet is larger or has to move between rooms, or a Zip12 Charging Wall Cabinet when neither desk nor floor space is available.
