The Zip12 desktop cabinet takes tablets, Chromebooks, Ultrabooks, MacBooks and laptops with screens up to 14 inches — a genuinely wider envelope than the wall cabinet, which stops at 12 inches. The device limits are 38.9 x 24.6 cm including case and cord and 2.3 kg per device.

Capacity depends on how you set the bays. At 28 mm slot widths the cabinet holds 12 devices; open the bays to 48 mm for thicker laptops and it holds 8. Slot depth is 36.2 cm. Because Pop-N-Go bays adjust in 0.85 cm increments and Lift-N-Set shelves in 1.7 cm increments, you can mix device sizes in one cabinet rather than standardising the whole fleet around the storage.

Power management is built in. Ergotron's patented PowerShuttle technology prevents circuit overload by automatically determining how many devices can charge at one time — which matters when you are adding twelve charging devices to a classroom ring main. Input is 100–240 V, 12–10 A, 50/60 Hz, feeding a country-specific 12-receptacle outlet strip that accepts oversized wall plugs and brick-style adapters.

Siting: the cabinet measures 55.8 x 62.2 x 35.6 cm and weighs 22.7 kg, sits on a counter or desk, and secures to a worksurface up to 25 mm thick with included hardware. Two cabinets stack two high if you need 24 bays in one footprint. A removable top panel and an Ethernet routing hole make cabling straightforward, and there is room for a wireless access point, though the AP itself is not included.

It ships fully assembled, which in practice means it can be receiving devices the afternoon it arrives.

The unit ships fully assembled with its dividers, outlet strip, worksurface securing hardware and stacking hardware. Device AC adapters are not included — the cabinet charges over AC using each device's own adapter. Ergotron lists the desktop cabinet in six regional configurations: -1 US/CA/MX, -2 EU, -3 UK/IE/SG/MY/HK, -4 AU/NZ, -5 CN and -6 JP. The -3 SKU shown here is the correct part number for Singapore.

Ergotron warrants its Zip charging systems by component rather than under a single headline term: limited lifetime on the frame, 5 years on mechanical components, 3 years on electrical components and 1 year on cables. We state it that way deliberately — the parts that actually wear on a charging product are the fans, outlets and controller, and those carry the 3-year electrical term rather than the frame's lifetime cover. Ergotron also sells a paid extended warranty for AC-power charging carts (part SRVC-DM5YR-PSCART), which is an add-on rather than the standard term. How many devices does it actually hold?
It depends on how wide you set the bays. At 28 mm slot widths it holds 12 devices; at 48 mm, for thicker laptops, it holds 8. Devices can be up to 14 inches, 38.9 x 24.6 cm including case and cord, and 2.3 kg each.

How is this different from the Zip12 Charging Wall Cabinet?
They are different products with different capabilities, not one product in two mountings. The desktop cabinet takes devices up to 14 inches and 2.3 kg, has adjustable Lift-N-Set shelves and Pop-N-Go bays, and includes PowerShuttle load management. The wall cabinet takes devices up to 12 inches and 1.4 kg, has no stated power management, and mounts to a wall. Choose by device size first.

What does PowerShuttle actually do?
Ergotron describes it as safely preventing overload of electrical circuits by automatically determining the maximum number of devices that can be charged at one time. That is a load-limiting behaviour. Ergotron does not publish how many devices charge per stage or a cycle time, so we do not quote figures for either.

Are charging adapters included?
No. The cabinet charges over AC using each device's own adapter and provides a country-specific 12-receptacle outlet strip that accepts oversized wall plugs and brick-style adapters.

Can I mix tablets and laptops in the same cabinet?
Yes. Pop-N-Go bays adjust in 0.85 cm increments and Lift-N-Set shelves in 1.7 cm increments, and Ergotron explicitly supports mix-and-match device sizes. Set the bays to suit the fleet rather than the other way round.

Can it be secured, or stacked?
Both. It secures to a worksurface up to 25 mm thick with included hardware, has 3-point locking steel doors with a key lock, and is padlock-ready. Two cabinets stack two high, with the stacking hardware provided.

DM12-1012-3. Ergotron scopes the -3 suffix to the UK, Ireland, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Is there a local Singapore warranty?
