PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Cisco 10GBASE-SR SFP+ Transceiver Module, S-Class (SFP-10G-SR-S=) — Cisco 5-Year Standard Warranty
10 Gigabit Ethernet over multimode fibre
The Cisco SFP-10G-SR-S is a 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver for 10 Gigabit Ethernet links over multimode fibre, using an 850 nm laser and a dual LC/PC connector. It suits switch-to-switch and switch-to-server links inside a building or data centre room.
Reach of up to 400 m on OM4
Cisco specifies 26 m on FDDI-grade 62.5 µm fibre, 33 m on OM1, 66 m on OM2, 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 multimode fibre.
S-Class Ethernet optic
S-Class modules are Cisco's Ethernet-focused versions of its 10G optics. Cisco notes that the SFP-10G-SR-S does not support FCoE; where FCoE is required, the standard SFP-10G-SR applies.
Hot-swappable SFP+ form factor
The module is a hot-swappable input/output device that plugs into an Ethernet SFP+ port. Cisco lists the SFP+ as its smallest 10G form factor, giving high port density per chassis.
Cisco quality ID and optical monitoring
Cisco's 10GBASE SFP+ family includes a Cisco quality identification feature that lets a Cisco platform confirm the module is Cisco-certified, plus digital optical monitoring for diagnostics on supported hosts.

Compatibility & Software Support
Host compatibility
The SFP-10G-SR-S fits 10G SFP+ ports on Cisco switches, routers and network modules such as the Catalyst 9300 C9300-NM-8X=. Supported platforms and minimum software releases vary, so confirm the host in the Cisco Optics Compatibility Matrix.
Interoperability
Both ends of the link must be 10GBASE-SR (850 nm) optics on multimode fibre. It does not link to 10GBASE-LR single-mode optics or to 1000BASE-SX SFPs.
Warranty
Sold by SourceIT as a Singapore unit. Cisco states a standard warranty of 5 years for its 10GBASE SFP+ modules in its data sheet. Keep your SourceIT invoice as proof of purchase for warranty claims.

Frequently Asked Questions — Cisco SFP-10G-SR-S
How far does the SFP-10G-SR-S reach?
Up to 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 multimode fibre; much shorter on older OM1 (33 m) and OM2 (66 m) fibre.
What is the difference between SFP-10G-SR-S and SFP-10G-SR?
Both are 10GBASE-SR optics. The S-Class SFP-10G-SR-S is the Ethernet version and Cisco notes it does not support FCoE.
Can it be used on single-mode fibre?
No. 10GBASE-SR is a multimode optic. For single-mode fibre up to 10 km, use the SFP-10G-LR-S.
Will it work in a 1G SFP port?
It is designed for SFP+ (10G) ports. Check the Cisco Optics Compatibility Matrix for the specific host.
What connector does it use?
A dual LC/PC connector, so use LC-terminated multimode patch cords.
