PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Cisco 10GBASE-LR SFP+ Transceiver Module, S-Class (SFP-10G-LR-S=) — Cisco 5-Year Standard Warranty
10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 10 km
The Cisco SFP-10G-LR-S is a 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver for 10 Gigabit Ethernet over single-mode fibre. Cisco specifies a reach of 10 km on standard G.652 single-mode fibre, suiting campus backbone and building-to-building links.
1310 nm single-mode optic
The module uses a 1310 nm laser with a dual LC/PC connector.
S-Class Ethernet optic
S-Class modules are Cisco's Ethernet-focused versions of its 10G optics. Cisco notes that the SFP-10G-LR-S does not support FCoE; where FCoE is required, the standard SFP-10G-LR applies.
Hot-swappable SFP+ form factor
The module is a hot-swappable input/output device that plugs into an Ethernet SFP+ port, giving high 10G port density per chassis.
Cisco quality ID and optical monitoring
Cisco's 10GBASE SFP+ family includes a Cisco quality identification feature that lets a Cisco platform confirm the module is Cisco-certified, plus digital optical monitoring for diagnostics on supported hosts.

Compatibility & Software Support
Host compatibility
The SFP-10G-LR-S fits 10G SFP+ ports on Cisco switches, routers and network modules such as the Catalyst 9300 C9300-NM-8X=. Supported platforms and minimum software releases vary, so confirm the host in the Cisco Optics Compatibility Matrix.
Interoperability
Both ends of the link must be 10GBASE-LR (1310 nm) optics on single-mode fibre. It does not link to 10GBASE-SR multimode optics or to 1000BASE-LX/LH SFPs such as the GLC-LH-SMD=.
Warranty
Sold by SourceIT as a Singapore unit. Cisco states a standard warranty of 5 years for its 10GBASE SFP+ modules in its data sheet. Keep your SourceIT invoice as proof of purchase for warranty claims.

Frequently Asked Questions — Cisco SFP-10G-LR-S
How far does the SFP-10G-LR-S reach?
Cisco specifies 10 km on standard G.652 single-mode fibre.
What is the difference between SFP-10G-LR-S and SFP-10G-LR?
Both are 10GBASE-LR optics. The S-Class SFP-10G-LR-S is the Ethernet version and Cisco notes it does not support FCoE.
Can it be used on multimode fibre?
10GBASE-LR is specified for single-mode fibre. For multimode links, use the SFP-10G-SR-S.
What connector does it use?
A dual LC/PC connector, so use LC-terminated single-mode patch cords.
What temperature range is it rated for?
Cisco rates it for the commercial range, 0 to 70°C.
