ASUS NUC 16 PRO Intel Ultra X9 378H/ LPDDR5x 64GB Barebone Mini PC (No SSD/OS)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
ASUS NUC 16 Pro Intel Core Ultra X9 378H / LPDDR5x 64GB Barebone Mini PC - No SSD / No OS (RNUC16GDKW96D003) - 3 Years Onsite Local Warranty
Core Ultra X9 and 64GB Memory, Your Choice of Storage and OS
The ASUS NUC 16 PRO RNUC16GDKW96D003 is a barebone kit for system integrators and IT teams who fit their own storage and operating system. The Intel Core Ultra X9 Processor 378H and 64GB of soldered LPDDR5x memory are already on the board; no SSD and no operating system are installed. Add one or two M.2 NVMe drives, load your standard image, and it becomes a compact desk, kiosk or edge PC.
Intel Core Ultra X9 378H with Intel Arc B390 Graphics
Intel lists the Core Ultra X9 378H with 16 cores (4 Performance-cores, 8 Efficient-cores and 4 Low Power Efficient-cores), 16 threads, a maximum turbo frequency of 5.0 GHz and 18MB of Intel Smart Cache. ASUS runs it at a configurable TDP of 65W in the NUC 16 Pro chassis. Graphics is the integrated Intel Arc B390 GPU with 12 Xe-cores at up to 2.5 GHz - well beyond the Intel Graphics of the Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 7 356H barebones.
How the X9 378H Compares with the X9 388H
Both X9 processors share the core layout and the Arc B390 GPU. The 388H turbos slightly higher (up to 5.1 GHz against 5.0 GHz on the 378H) and is the vPro-capable part; Intel lists Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) as not supported on the 378H. The 388H version of this kit is the RNUC16GDKX96D003.
64GB LPDDR5x Already Fitted
Because the Core Ultra X-series platform uses LPDDR5x soldered to the board (rated up to 9600 MT/s), memory is not something you add yourself: this kit ships with 64GB installed, and that capacity is fixed for the life of the unit.
Storage You Choose: Two M.2 NVMe Slots
No storage is supplied. The board provides two M.2 2280 NVMe slots - one PCIe Gen5 x4 and one PCIe Gen4 x4 - each supporting drives from 128GB to 8TB, reached through ASUS's tool-less chassis. SourceIT can supply and fit SSDs and install Windows 11 before delivery if you would rather receive a ready-to-run unit.
Dual Thunderbolt 4, Dual HDMI 2.1, Dual 2.5G LAN
Rear I/O includes two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports with DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and two RJ45 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports (dual Intel I226-V). The front adds one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports. Wireless is Intel Wi-Fi 7 (BE211) with Bluetooth 6.0, and ASUS rates the system for up to four 4K displays. There is no analogue audio jack; audio is carried digitally over HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C.
Compact, Tool-less and Business-Ready
The chassis measures 144 x 117 x 42 mm and weighs 0.70 kg (kit) per ASUS, with a tool-less design for service access, a VESA bracket in the box for mounting behind a monitor, a Kensington lock slot and built-in firmware TPM 2.0. Every configuration in the NUC 16 Pro range shares the same external chassis, ports and VESA mounting.
Supplied Locally, with GST Invoice and Singapore Onsite Warranty
SourceIT supplies the ASUS NUC 16 PRO RNUC16GDKW96D003 with a full GST invoice and local Singapore support. This unit carries a 3-year onsite warranty, so a qualifying hardware fault is resolved at your premises rather than through a courier round trip.
Prefer a ready-to-run system? The RNUC16GDKW96C4N3 pairs the same X9 378H with 32GB LPDDR5x, a 1TB SSD and Windows 11 Pro. Email sales@sourceit.com.sg and we will help you match the configuration to your workload.

Connectivity & Setup / Expansion
Soldered Memory: Decide Capacity at Order Time
LPDDR5x soldered to the board gives the Arc B390 GPU the memory bandwidth it needs, which is why ASUS uses it on the Core Ultra X-series configurations instead of removable slots. The trade-off is fixed capacity: 64GB on this SKU, with no field upgrade path.
Storage Setup
Install at least one M.2 2280 NVMe SSD before first use. Use the PCIe Gen5 x4 slot for the boot drive if you are fitting a Gen5 SSD; the second slot is PCIe Gen4 x4. Each slot supports 128GB to 8TB drives.
Operating System Installation
No operating system is supplied. ASUS lists support for Windows 11 Home, Pro, IoT Enterprise and Pro Education (64-bit), Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0. Drivers are available from the ASUS support site; SourceIT can also deliver the unit with Windows 11 Pro installed on request.
Display and Network Setup
Connect up to four 4K displays using the two Thunderbolt 4 (DisplayPort 2.1) ports and two HDMI 2.1 ports. The two Intel I226-V 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports suit a failover WAN link, network segregation or a lightweight gateway role, and Intel Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 6.0 covers wireless. Thunderbolt 4 also supports docks and high-speed external storage.
Mounting and Power
A VESA bracket and screws are supplied for mounting the unit behind a compatible monitor or under a desk. Power comes from the external adapter supplied in the box.
