Allied Telesis AT-MMC200/SC-960 Fast Ethernet to 100FX SC Multi-Mode Mini Media and Rate Converter, 2km, TAA
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Allied Telesis AT-MMC200/SC-960 Fast Ethernet Mini Media & Rate Converter - Local Warranty
Fast Ethernet over Multi-Mode Fiber up to 2 km
The AT-MMC200/SC-960 links a 10/100TX RJ-45 copper port to a 100FX multi-mode fiber port with a fixed SC connector. Operating at 1310 nm, it carries Fast Ethernet up to 2 km, well beyond the 100 m limit of twisted-pair cable.
Speed and Media Conversion
With store-and-forward switching the copper side can run at 10 or 100 Mbps while the fiber link stays at 100 Mbps, so legacy 10 Mbps equipment can still connect over fiber.
Built-In Diagnostics
Smart MissingLink reports a lost link from one side to the other, Far End Fault on the 100 Mb fiber alerts the far end to a failure, and a DIP-switch link test helps you quickly isolate a faulty cable or end node. Smart Link Restoration recovers the link automatically after an interruption.
Compact, Low-Power and TAA Compliant
The small enclosure uses around 1.7 W, has a locking power jack and can sit on a desk, mount on a wall or install in an MMC chassis or rack tray. The -960 version includes a multi-region AC power supply and is TAA compliant.

Features & Applications
Key Features
Speed and media conversion; store-and-forward switching; Smart MissingLink; Smart Link Restoration; Far End Fault on 100 Mb fiber; link test; IEEE 802.1Q transparency; 10K jumbo frames; locking 12 VDC power jack; TAA-compliant -960 model.
Typical Deployments
Connecting Fast Ethernet devices such as IP cameras, building controllers, access control panels or remote switches over multi-mode fiber, and replacing older standalone Fast Ethernet converters with a smaller, lower-power unit.
Selection Tip
Choose the MMC200/SC for 100 Mbps links on multi-mode fiber terminated in SC. Pick the MMC200/ST or MMC200/LC for other connectors, the MMC200LX/SC for single-mode runs up to 20 km, or the MMC2000/SC if you need Gigabit speed (up to 550 m multi-mode).

Frequently Asked Questions — Allied Telesis AT-MMC200/SC-960
How far can the fiber link run?
Up to 2 km over 62.5/125 µm multi-mode fiber at 1310 nm.
Does it support Gigabit?
No. The MMC200/SC is a Fast Ethernet converter (10/100TX copper, 100FX fiber). For Gigabit choose the AT-MMC2000/SC.
Do I need a matching unit at the other end?
The far end needs a 100FX multi-mode port with SC connector, such as a second MMC200/SC or a switch with a compatible 100FX fiber port.
Can it be rack- or wall-mounted?
Yes, using the optional AT-MMCTRAY6 rack tray, the AT-MMCR18 chassis or the AT-MMCWLMT wall-mount kit.
What warranty do I get?
Supplied by SourceIT with local warranty and a GST invoice.
