Allied Telesis AT-MC102XL-60 Fast Ethernet 100BASE-TX to 100BASE-FX SC Multi-Mode Media Converter, 2km
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Allied Telesis AT-MC102XL-60 100BASE-TX to 100BASE-FX SC Media Converter - Local Warranty
Extend Fast Ethernet over Multi-Mode Fiber
The AT-MC102XL converts a 100BASE-TX UTP connection to 100BASE-FX multi-mode fiber with an SC connector, stretching a Fast Ethernet link up to 2 km at 1310 nm, far past the reach of copper cabling.
Simple to Install
Auto MDI/MDI-X on the UTP port means a standard patch cable works whether you connect a PC, hub or switch. Half- and full-duplex operation are supported, and the converter is transparent to IEEE 802.1Q VLAN-tagged packets.
Link Test and MissingLink
A link test function forces the converters to communicate over the fiber so installers can check the cable without dedicated fiber test equipment. MissingLink passes link status between the two ports, so if one side drops the other is shut down and the connected device knows the path has failed.
Standalone or Chassis Mounted
Each unit runs from its own external power supply for standalone use, and can also be installed in the AT-MCR12 12-slot chassis, AT-TRAY4 or AT-TRAY1 rack trays, or on a wall with the AT-WLMT bracket.

Features & Applications
Key Features
Half- and full-duplex operation; IEEE 802.1Q transparency; Auto MDI/MDI-X; MissingLink; link test; RoHS compliant; rack-mountable via MCR12, TRAY4 or TRAY1; wall-mountable via WLMT.
Typical Deployments
Extending a Fast Ethernet UTP network over multi-mode fiber between floors or buildings, connecting remote 100 Mbps equipment, and centralised conversion in a 12-slot MCR12 chassis with a shared power supply.
Selection Tip
Choose the MC102XL when your multi-mode fiber is terminated in SC. The MC101XL is the ST-connector version and the MC103XL is the single-mode SC version (15 km). For a smaller, lower-power unit with speed conversion, Allied Telesis offers the MMC200/SC.

Frequently Asked Questions — Allied Telesis AT-MC102XL-60
How far can the fiber link run?
Up to 2 km over multi-mode fiber at 1310 nm.
Which fiber connector does it use?
SC. The ST-connector equivalent is the MC101XL.
Can several converters share one power supply?
Yes. Up to 12 units can be installed in the AT-MCR12 chassis, which powers them from a single internal supply; a second load-sharing supply can be added for critical applications.
How do I check the fiber is good?
Use the built-in link test, which forces the converters to communicate over the fiber so cable faults can be found without fiber-optic test equipment.
What warranty do I get?
Supplied by SourceIT with local warranty and a GST invoice.
